At the symposium, Xibei Street and Sunshine Street reported on the work of "community consultation", and shared their practices, experiences and next steps. The members attending the meeting spoke positively and unanimously held that carrying out "community consultations" is a concrete measure to promote the extension of CPPCC consultations to the grass-roots level, which is conducive to smoothing the channels of communication between CPPCC members and the masses, and is conducive to promoting CPPCC members to better participate in grass-roots social governance.
Lu Zhu pointed out that carrying out "community consultation" is an inevitable requirement for in-depth study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thinking on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC, a specific practice for implementing the Regulations on the Work of Political Consultation of the Communist Party of China, and a practical need for implementing the work requirements of the provincial and municipal CPPCC committees. It is necessary to conscientiously study the relevant requirements of the provincial and municipal CPPCC committees on "community consultation," carry out consultations around the people's livelihood concerns such as "one circle, two fields, three reforms," education, medical care, public health, old-age care, and childcare in cities, set up a good organizational structure for the liaison group of cppcc committee members in the neighborhoods, and organize community CPPCC members to carry out people's sentiment forums and on-the-spot visits and investigations around the needs of the grass-roots level, the strengths of the committee members, and the expectations of the masses, so as to effectively transform the advantages of the cppcc committee system into the efficiency of grass-roots governance.
Lu Zhu demanded that all streets and communities should combine their own advantages and characteristics, focus on building a "community consultation" platform, attract more people to participate in grass-roots democratic consultation, and promote "community consultation" to go deeper and more concrete. It is necessary to pay attention to adhering to the party's leadership, paying attention to highlighting the key points of consultation, paying attention to carrying out research and investigation before consultation, strengthening guidance during consultation, and following up supervision after consultation, paying attention to giving play to the main role of committee members, and paying attention to the implementation of results.
