Population status
Nowadays, the wild population of blue-crowned noisy grebe is mainly distributed in Wuyuan, Jiangxi and its surroundings, and the breeding season is dispersed into multiple breeding groups, the number of several to dozens of individuals, in recent years, there are about 5 stable breeding groups, some breeding points have disappeared or transferred, and the total population is about 300. The survival of the blue-crowned noisy grebe population in Wuyuan is first of all due to the traditional pastoral culture and customs that the local residents have maintained since ancient times, and the well-preserved "Shuikou Forest" in the village, the ancient trees or ancient tree groups that have grown healthily after a hundred years, are suitable habitats for the Blue-crowned Noisy Stork.
