Danger looming? Australia has changed its face again, and the Australian defense minister warned that the threat from the Chinese side is intensifying, and the United States needs to expand the Indo-Pacific military presence to suppress it; It also threatened that Australia would develop more ranged offensive weapons to deal with the threat!

Since the new Australian government took office, it has said on many occasions that it wants to improve Australia-China relations, and it is also based on this that the foreign ministers of the two sides recently met for the first time in nearly three years, and our side put forward four proposals aimed at improving bilateral relations based on the current bilateral situation, but unexpectedly the Australian authorities did not respond to this, or even ignored it.

At the same time, Australian Defense Secretary Males, who is also the deputy prime minister of Australia, even threatened that China is carrying out the largest military expansion since World War II, the threat continues to increase, the US-Australia alliance must not only be strengthened, the United States needs to expand its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region to prevent military "deterrence failure"!

At present, Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Males visited the United States for the first time after taking office, and on the 11th, he gave a speech at a think tank in the United States, in which he warned that China is carrying out the largest military expansion since World War II, "is completely changing the indo-Pacific, and not only the Indo-Pacific, but the strategic environment of the world", not only the US-Australia alliance needs to be strengthened, but also the United States needs to expand its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region and maintain the Balance of Forces in the Indo-Pacific to avoid "catastrophic deterrence failure" in the region.

Malles also stressed that Australia would "take more responsibility for its own security", including investments in defence capabilities, and "will develop longer-range offensive weapons, cyberattack capabilities and regional denial systems against broader threats".

In fact, the development of long-range offensive weapons capable of striking the East Asian continent, such as carrier-based missile systems and nuclear submarine forces, has been actively promoted by the previous Australian government, and it is clear that the new Australian government has inherited the strategy of fighting for East Asia and cooperating with the United States to maintain the US-led Indo-Pacific order.

In addition, it should be pointed out that on the occasion of Malles' visit to the United States, two US B-2 strategic bombers flew to Amberley Air Force Base in Australia on July 10, which means that in addition to guam and Hawaii, the third route of the US military's attempt to use Australia as the fulcrum to "strategic bomber long-range strike" in East Asia has been officially opened and operated - because the direction of the Philippine Sea, or the direction of the South China Sea, is the weak area of our defense system. Therefore, in recent years, the long-range strike route of strategic bombers with Australia as the fulcrum has become a defense deployment actively promoted by the United States, and when the military base upgrade in the Northern Territory is completed, it is obvious that more American strategic bombers will be stationed in Australia.

In order to ensure the safety of the long-range strike unit of the US strategic bomber, Australia will obviously continue to strengthen the construction of the defense system facing the direction of East Asia, and its integration and cooperation with the US defense forces in the Asia-Pacific direction will also be intensified.
