On July 10, fishermen in Qingshui County caught a spoon sturgeon about 90 centimeters long and weighing 30 kilograms at the Guiyuan Tianju Family Farm fishing ground in Hongbao Town. According to the owner, since the second half of last year, fishermen have caught spoon sturgeon of this size many times. The fish was introduced from Meishan, Sichuan province in 2017 by the Tianshui Fishery Workstation and stocked at the fishery farm, when the stocking size was about 15 cm. Under the technical guidance of the Municipal Fishery Workstation and the Qingshui County Animal Husbandry Technology Extension Station for 5 consecutive years and the careful rearing of the fishery, the growth of such a large-sized adult fish shows that our city is very suitable for the growth of spoon sturgeon.
Spoon-nosed sturgeon belongs to the sturgeon family, because the snout is spoon-shaped, shaped like a duck's beak, so it is also known as duck-billed fish, is a relatively valuable fish. Spoon sturgeon mainly live in fresh water, living temperature 0-35 °C, suitable growth temperature of 16-22 °C, in the natural environment, to live on zooplankton, artificial breeding after training, can be fed floating pellet feed. As a set of fish, can replace bighead carp, play a good role in purifying water quality, low density set health growth rate is faster than the main fish, but the meat quality is better, more tender. Spoon sturgeon is edible throughout the body, very popular with consumers, and has a good prospect of promoting breeding.
Since the first introduction of the experimental spoon sturgeon in 2016, it has been successfully farmed in some fisheries, and the individual can reach more than 5 catties in two years. In order to fully grasp and summarize the breeding technology of spoon sturgeon, in 2019, the Municipal Fishery Workstation relied on the support of the Municipal Science and Technology Support Program project to implement the scientific research project of "Spoon Sturgeon Introduction Test Demonstration". In terms of breeding technology, strengthen the management of seedling period, take comprehensive measures such as erecting defensive bird nets and centralized breeding to improve the survival rate and breeding rate of seedlings, carry out comparative tests through pond nesting and pond single culture technology, summarize the best model suitable for local breeding, and achieve initial results, and the project has passed acceptance and results registration.
