This is a rare affirmation of China's achievements on Earth by NASA, but India is different, worrying, what is the reason for this? We look at it step by step.
The world is engaged in greening, China calls it second, no one dares to call it first, this is not blown, facts can prove everything.
In 2016, the Kubuqi Desert, the seventh largest desert on the mainland, disappeared, from its initial desertification state to a "green field", and after the ecosystem changes, it has also become home to many wild animals.
At the same time, through satellite photos, we can also see that compared with 2016, there have been completely "earth-shaking" changes. And in addition to this, there is also the Mu Usu Desert.
This is one of the four major sandy areas on the mainland, and at the beginning of the founding of New China, the total area of sandy land in this area reached 42,200 square kilometers. But by 2020, the desert is on the verge of disappearing from China's map, turning it into a green space.

Over the past 40 years, China's average vegetation index has grown by 9.2 percent, twice the global growth rate (4.6 percent). In the last 20 years, the national average vegetation index has continued to grow, reaching more than 3 times the global average.
In the past 20 years, China's vegetation coverage has increased at a rate of 7,000 square kilometers / year, while the world's vegetation coverage has decreased at a rate of 50,000 square kilometers / year in the same period, and China has been "turning green" for 40 years.
Compared with the early 1980s, China's relatively dense vegetation cover increased by 0.7% in the late 2010s.

Why is india green worrying?
This is because there is a difference between India's greening and China's greening, and India's contribution to making the earth green is not the contribution of "total afforestation". What does the study by Ranga Myneni and colleagues from Boston University find that more than 82 percent of India's contribution to global greening comes from expanded agricultural cultivation?
That is because of the green space produced by agricultural cultivation under the reclamation of the land. And this trend will continue to increase as India's demand for agriculture expands.
Because India's population base is quite large, the demand for food is very large. So, this could lead to the continued development of "agriculture greening" in India. Unless the population base declines on a large scale, there will be a "reversal" situation.
At the same time, as India's climate impact is also increasing, there will be floods on the one hand and droughts on the other, which may also lead to a transformation of reclaimed land and problems in utilization.
So, although India only contributes 5% of greening, it is also worrying because it is not entirely from the contribution of greening.

According to the forest greening data released in 2022, the forest coverage rate on the mainland increased by 2.68 percentage points to 23.04%, the net increase in forest stock was 3.839 billion cubic meters to 17.56 billion cubic meters, and the total carbon storage of forest vegetation increased by 1.375 billion tons to 9.2 billion tons. Among them, the forest area has increased by nearly 375 million mu in the past 10 years.
Therefore, in the future, if the mainland continues according to this trend, forests will be everywhere, which will bring benefits to more people on the mainland. At least the ecosystem is better, and our living environment is getting better.
