Urumqi, April 1 (Reporter Qi Yaping) On April 1, the reporter learned from the Water Administration (Fishery Administration) Supervision Detachment of the Tenth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps that since April 1, 2020, all natural rivers in the Beitun City area of the Tenth Division have been banned from fishing all year round, and the fishing ban on natural lakes (Ulungu Lake) will be from April 1 to July 31, in order to protect the fishery resources and water ecological environment in natural waters.

According to the "2020 Tenth Division Beitun City Fishing Ban Announcement", during the fishing ban period, it is forbidden to engage in any fishing (fishing) operations. The fishery administration department will strictly punish the illegal fishing (fishing) operation during the fishing ban period in accordance with the Fishery Law of the People's Republic of China and the measures for the implementation of the < Fisheries Law of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region >. All kinds of aquatic products wholesale and retail markets, hotels, and restaurants must not sell, operate, or process wild fish, and if violations of laws and regulations are discovered, they must be strictly and expeditiously investigated and dealt with.

The "Announcement" also stipulates that all illegal fishing behaviors such as "electricity, poisoning, and frying" are prohibited. The fishery administration department will transfer the use of prohibited tools and methods (electricity and poison) to catch aquatic products during the fishing ban period to the public security organs for criminal case filing and punishment in accordance with article 340 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China.

Beitun City of the Tenth Division is located in the southern foothills of the Altai Mountains, the northern part of the Junggar Basin, spanning the altay and Tacheng regions of Xinjiang, and the natural waters between the Irtysh River and the Ulungu River are widely spread in the territory, and the water surface of various types of aquaculture is 150,000 mu; the reservoir accounts for 37% of the total water area, the lake accounts for 63%; the natural scenery is beautiful, and the fishery resources are abundant; the river perch, the white spotted dogfish, the Oriental European bream, the Baikal Yaro, the silver crucian carp, the high-body Yaro fish, the pike perch and other cold-water fish are the fish unique here.

For a long time, beitun city of the tenth division has given full play to its resource advantages, developed fisheries, and made great efforts to build an "aquatic products entrepreneurship park". The Nanguan Reservoir, Akdala Reservoir, Aweitan Reservoir, Dingshan Reservoir, Yushigai Reservoir, etc., under the jurisdiction of the Beitun City Water Pipe Office of the Tenth Division, have a total aquaculture water surface of 45,000 mu and an annual output of 1,800 tons of various aquatic products, which is a rare high-quality aquatic product base in Xinjiang.
