In the other direction, 3 hours' drive north to the east, the Cocoto Sea is smaller and more refined than Kanas.
It has the lowest snow line in China and is considered the origin of human skiing. Snow also came earlier than anywhere else. Elsewhere, the forest is still dying, and the Cocoto Sea is already snow-capped.
In winter, the Cocoto Sea is popular in ski circles, and it is recognized as the best ski resort in the country. Slipping from October to May of the following year, I am really not afraid of pride.

However, with the opening of the S21, there is one place that will become more accessible. A closer look reveals that it is a treasure that few people go to, and predicts that this place will be on fire. That's Fuhai County in the Altay region, or rather, Lake Ulungu.
Fuhai in the south of Altay, south of the vast desert of the Junggar Basin, before the north from Urumqi will mostly take the G217 direct detour, and the 8-hour drive is too arduous, most travelers will choose to fly directly to Altay, and then go north to Kanas or Cocoto Sea.
In addition, fuhai does not develop much, mainly receiving tourists in Xinjiang, some enthusiasts who are deeply self-driving will come to play. Many people who don't know much about Xinjiang haven't even heard of it.
After the S21 is completed, Fuhai will become the gateway of Urumqi to the north to the Altay region.
Lake Ulungu produces fish. With a water area of 1,035 square kilometers, it is one of the top fishing bases in Xinjiang and accounts for one-third of Xinjiang's fish production. Fishing culture has been passed down for a long time, and in the first season of the CCTV documentary "Aerial Photography of China", the first season of Xinjiang has shots of fishing techniques on the lake.
It is also a holy place for anglers, rich in white spotted pike (Joltai), river bass (five black), Baikal Jaro, Oriental European bream, pike perch, carp and other more than ten species of fish, early autumn fishing here will hold a Lua fishing competition, winter on the frozen lake, there will also be various festivals of winter fishing.
The benefit that accompanies fish production is, of course, eating fish. The Gold Coast is one of the few tourist spots developed along Lake Ulungu where you can swim and sunbathe and enjoy some water activities.
Food stalls one after another, the lake's middle-class bream, pike, grilled out fragrant and fresh. "Fuhai Fish" is already a food business card in Xinjiang.
The name "Fuhai" refers to the "big sea" Brento Sea in the Urungu Lake, which is vast and blue, like the sea. Obviously on the Gobi, there are 10 kilometers of silver sand beaches, blue waves, water and sky, and the sunset is also very charming.
No tickets are required here. Many people who have been there say that they do not lose to Sailim Lake, but also retain a little more of the natural beauty of the original ecology.
The northwestern part of Theaiko has a large wetland swamp and is a good place for bird watching. You can rent a boat to cruise the lake, where the reeds are dense and overgrown, and the migratory birds from spring and summer to the north of Liqiu will roost here.
Flocks of geese and ducks, seagulls flying, swans, egrets, cranes, cormorants... Even flamingos have occasionally witnessed.
And the "little sea" Jili Lake, at the mouth of the Ulungu River, has a sea devil's city, which is a piece of water Yadan. Few people know, and they look even more magnificent and desolate.
See the lake, swim in the devil's town, eat fish, watch birds... This grassland has been planted, and it is hoped that S21 can be opened smoothly as soon as possible.
In September, the construction of the S21 Awu Expressway in Xinjiang was completed, and the countdown was smoothly entered. The Urumqi-Altay drive will be shortened to 4 hours. It is 258 km shorter than the G217 line passing through Shihezi-Karamay, and 193 km shorter than the G216 line that enters Fuyun.
The highway runs straight through the Junggar Basin and crosses the Gurbantunggut Desert, the second largest desert in China. It is fully enclosed, with a total length of 342.538 km and a design speed of 120 km/h. It will be the first desert highway in Xinjiang.
