On June 13, the United States released a batch of early photos of Guantanamo Prison, showing the first prisoners sent from Afghanistan to Guantanamo in 2002, 20 years ago, when Guantanamo Prison was just established. The prisoners were blindfolded, limbs bound and forced to wear headphones to block out any sound. According to U.S. reports, the photos were taken by U.S. military photographers in order to let senior U.S. military officials, including then U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, know about the situation at Guantanamo. Australian David Hicks Hicks, who fought for the Afghan Taliban, was later admitted to war crimes at trial and deported back to Australia in 2007. In the picture, the U.S. military is heavily armed, some prisoners are armed, and the U.S. military transfers the prisoners from the plane to the bus, the seats on the bus are removed, and a metal rod is welded on the floor so that the prisoners are chained when they are transported. During the meal, the prisoner was instructed to kneel down with his hands behind his head. Guantanamo was a place forcibly occupied by the Americans from the Republic of Cuba, and the prisons set up here were even more illegal. Guantanamo Prison is the "black prison" of the US military, and the United States has carried out various atrocities and tortures against prisoners here, including waterboarding.
