HanGui, also known as osmanthus tree, is the city tree of Hanzhong City. Han Gui in Hanzhong, Shaanxi, is the leader among osmanthus flowers, well-known at home and abroad, and is well-known in Kyushu.
Produced in the Sacred Water Temple in Nanzheng County, 7 kilometers southeast of The city of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, it is said that this osmanthus tree was planted by Xiao He, the minister of Han Gaozu's ancestor Liu Bang in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC), so it was called "Han Gui".
The flowers bloom 5 to 7 petals more than ordinary osmanthus flowers by 2 to 3 petals. The flowering period lasts for 20 to 30 days, and the two flowering periods total 40 to 60 days. Perennial evergreen tree or shrub. It is up to 8 meters tall, with grey bark and a rounded canopy. Its leaves are paraphyletic, leathery, oval or oval lanceolate, 5 to 12 cm long and 3 to 5 cm wide, pointed or tapering at the apex, wedge-shaped at the base, full margin or sharp and fine serrations, 6 pairs of leaf veins, and short petioles. The flowers grow in leaf axils with weak peduncles. The characteristics of Han osmanthus are that the flowers bloom 5 to 7 petals, 2 to 3 more petals than ordinary osmanthus flowers, the flower stem is large, the flowering period is long, and it blooms twice a year, in autumn.

The tree is 1840 ± 350 years old.
Han gui is not only a valuable ornamental flower, but also has a high practical value.
