According to historical records, Tao Yuanming, a famous poet of the Jin Dynasty, once planted potted flowers, and in the tomb mural of the tomb of Prince Zhanghuai in the Tang Dynasty, it can be seen that the maid is holding a pot of fruit-embellished small trees, indicating that the Tang Dynasty already had bonsai. During the Song and Yuan dynasties, bonsai was called "some sub-scenery", meaning small scenery, and the name bonsai first appeared in the Ming Dynasty. By the Qing Dynasty, the development of Chinese bonsai was at its peak, and potted plants and pot offerings of flowers and trees became indispensable decorations of the court, and "bonsai offerings" could also be used to symbolize good blessings.

However, the court of the Qing Dynasty, which was honored and noble, derived a natural landscape imitated by using various precious materials. The Qing Palace Internal Affairs Office Work Plan Qing Archives has repeatedly recorded such bonsai: "... Transmission: Use this bead, gemstone, diamond inlaid with bonsai, and admire this." It can be known that the emperor once ordered the office to imitate the natural landscape with various precious pearls and jade gems, calling it "bionic bonsai".

This pair of bionic bonsai is decorated with octagonal copper tire filigree enamel pots as the container. The whole body blue enamel glaze is used as the ground, outlined by filigree technique, filled with red, blue, white, green, yellow and other enamel glazes, full of tangled branches and patterns, colorful and gorgeous, dotted with flowers, very noble temperament, alluding to the meaning of "a hundred flowers are rui, prosperous and peaceful". Dense golden trees are planted in the fertile soil of the pot, with lush branches and leaves made of jasper, which are light and delicate, with clear veins. In the lustrous jade green leaves blooming with dense beaded flowers, jade peaches of various colors are round and full, wonderful, staggered, vivid, and the gorgeous appearance of gold and color can not only set off the festive atmosphere, but also have auspicious meanings.
