Tang Zhenye went to Weng's house in the early morning of the day of the incident, but because Weng Meiling had told the night shift to watch the watch and not to let people come to the door to harass him, he was turned away.

At about 8 o'clock in the morning of the next day, Zou Shilong went to Weng Meiling's apartment to find out, and when he arrived outside the door, he found that there was a strong smell of gas coming from the house.

Chow Shilong informed the police and intercepted a taxi to take Weng Meiling to the Baptist Hospital, but unfortunately the death was confirmed after resuscitation, and the time of death was between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., and no suicide note was found at the scene.

Tong Chun-yip was only informed at about 9 a.m. that when he arrived at the Baptist Hospital, he could not help but shake his head and weep bitterly. After investigation, the police found that the cause of death was not suspicious and treated it as a suicide case.

Weng Meiling's funeral was held in the form of Catholicism at the Kowloon World Funeral Home on May 19, with nearly 400 fans and people from the film and television industry attending the ceremony, and more than 10,000 citizens watching.

Tong Chun-yip also appeared in the mourning hall, looking haggard, first holding a red rose as an offering, and then carrying a large bouquet of roses to Cape Collinson Crematorium.
