Therefore, Guo Jing and his wife chose to guard Xiangyang, and the ending was destined to die on the battlefield.

However, it is worth noting that in "Heaven and Dragon Slayer", Jin Yong only mentioned this past, and Huang Rong's whereabouts became a mystery.
1. The tragedy that no one witnessed
Guo Jing's death in battle is not surprising, which can be seen from his conversation with Yang Guo.
At the beginning, Yang Guo was not the later Condor Hero, and he only wanted to avenge Guo Jing for killing his father, and he didn't understand why the "uncle" and "hero" in front of him were so persistent in guarding Xiangyang, after all, in his opinion, the defenders of Xiangyang lacked troops and could not be the opponent of the Mongolian iron cavalry.

And in "Heaven and Dragon Slayer", it is still time to come, and when Zhou Zhiruo, the successor of the Emei faction, mentioned this past, he said: "On the day of the destruction of Xiangyang City, Guo Daxia and his wife were martyred at the same time as Guo Gongpo, and the whereabouts of the dragon slayer knife are unknown. Patriarch Guo was in Xichuan at the time, and he wanted to save his parents and relatives, but it was too late. ”

So the "fact" she mentioned was that Guo Jing and his wife and Guo Poyu both died in Xiangyang.
But is this really a "fact"?
As Zhou Zhiruo said, the patriarch's mother-in-law Guo Xiang herself is not in Xiangyang, and she is naturally hearsay about everything that happened in Xiangyang City, except that Guo Jing is sure that it is impossible to abandon the city and escape, the fate of Huang Rong and Guo Poyu is actually variable.
For example, it is mentioned in the serial version of "Heaven and Dragon Slayer" that Zhang Wuji was taught by Xie Xun three tricks to descend the dragon and eighteen palms, and Xie Xun inherited it from a hermit in the rivers and lakes.
Jin Yong also emphasized that the hermit did not get a glimpse of the mystery in this miracle, and the image of the hermit was like Guo Poyu, otherwise except for the people of the Guo Jing family, who would have the opportunity to inherit more than one palm of the dragon and eighteen palms?
As the custodian of the dragon slaying knife, Guo Poyu had no reason to stay in Xiangyang, so he mostly took the initiative to abandon the knife, resulting in a situation of suspended animation.
What about Huang Rong? Why is it said that she is not dead?
The answer is simple, because she has a reason to live.
Second, Huang Rong who has a reason to live
Zhou Zhiruo mentioned such a sentence when mentioning the "Heaven and Dragon Slaying Plan" handed down by her grandmother's mother-in-law.
"She (Huang Rong) hired a master craftsman, melted a dark iron heavy sword that Yang Guo left to Guo Shizu, and then added Western fine gold to cast a dragon slaying knife; and with the two sharpest swords at that time, Yang Guoxia's gentleman's sword and Mrs. Yang's lady's lady's sword, fused to form a sword that leaned on the sky...... Guo Daxia and his wife hid this secret of the art of war in a top secret place, and engraved the map of this location on two pieces of dark iron and iron, and indicated the method of entry, and hid the iron pieces in the Heavenly Sword and the Dragon Slayer Knife. To obtain this secret of the art of war, you must first find the iron piece, and how to cut the sword to obtain the iron piece must be used interchangeably, and all of them are indispensable. ”

Then the sword was handed over to Guo Xiang and Guo Poyu respectively, so the question is, who is the person who escorted the cheats to Peach Blossom Island?
There is an organ on that island, and ordinary people are afraid that they will be killed by the organ if they don't hide the cheats, Guo Jing is unable to get out of the city, Guo Fu is unreliable, and the two children are already holding swords, which is naturally not suitable, so only Huang Rong can perform such a task.
There is no doubt that the person who escorted the sword to Peach Blossom Island was Huang Rong.
But where did she go after that?
The answer may be very simple, but also cruel, captured by Kublai Khan.
3. The fate that is engraved in her child's name
Huang Rong in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" is no longer the little demon girl she was back then, she has been with Guo Jing all the year round, and she has also become the Huang Woman loved by the people, and she has become deeply righteous.
But even so, she is still the same Rong'er back then, the Rong'er who loves Guo Jing deeply, after hearing the news of her husband's death, she naturally couldn't continue to carry out the task of keeping the cheats, she only hid the cheats, and then went out of the mountain to assassinate Kublai Khan.
However, it backfired, Guo Jing wanted to break out of the siege in the Mongolian military camp back then, thanks to Feng Mofeng's mat, Huang Rong, whose martial arts were not as good as Guo Jing, went to assassinate Kublai Khan, undoubtedly hitting a stone with an egg, but so what, she already had the consciousness of fighting to the death.

But what Huang Rong didn't expect was that Kublai Khan might not have the intention to kill her, when Guo Jing went to the Mongolian military camp, there was a dialogue between Kublai Khan and Guo Jing, Guo Jing saw that he was somewhat similar to Tuolei, and he couldn't help but cry when he recalled the past, and Kublai Khan also recognized him as an uncle.
So he may not kill Huang Rong, Huang Rong's final outcome is mostly Kublai Khan's imprisonment and becoming a slave, of course, the best thing to say is "house arrest".

What is the meaning of Guo Fu, Guo Xiang, and Guo Poyu? Individually, it doesn't seem to have any special significance, one is like a water hibiscus, one is because he was born in Xiangyang, and the other is the meaning of Mingzhi's "fight against Mongolia".
However, the wish is beautiful, but the reality is cruel, and the final outcome is that the city of Xiangyang is broken, Guo Jing is killed in battle, Guo Po is abandoned, and Huang Rong is captured.
Perhaps because of this, Jin Yong is reluctant to present this story directly in front of the reader.
