Kerry Hill pays homage to the ocean
Opening on June 1, 2021, The Ritz-Carlton, Maldives, has chosen the Fari Islands, known for its unspoiled white sand beaches and azure waters teeming with marine life. It can be reached in just 10 minutes by seaplane from the airport or 45 minutes by boat.
The hotel was designed by the late master designer Kerry Hill, who completed the hotel's graphic design during his lifetime, inspired by the swirling waves, sea breezes and sunshine of the Maldives.
Inspired by the natural landscape and sea breeze of the turquoise lagoon, the indoor and outdoor areas are designed with minimalist design to achieve visual lightness, and the low-key posture is as low as possible not to break the balance with the environment, but always maximize the sea view.
The resort has 100 luxurious one- to three-bedroom villas. They are nestled in crystal clear waters or next to pristine beach bays. Panoramic sliding doors blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, and a private infinity pool is featured on the sun deck, as if sweeping the ocean into the courtyard.
The villa is all decorated in modern soft light grey wood with a predominantly circular motif that symbolizes the living conditions of the entire island. Each room stands majestically in the middle of the sea with sea views and direct access to the fine white sand beach and turquoise sea, and each guest will enjoy the 24/7 service of aris meeha, the personal butler here.

Mandarin Oriental, Capella

With Pattina getting off to a good start, parent brand Capella will also make its Maldives debut in 2023.

On 17 February 2022, Mandarin Oriental Hotels & Resorts officially announced that it will enter the Maldives for the first time, and the project is expected to open in 2025.
Mandarin Oriental Maldives will straddle three private islands on the Bolidhuffaru Archipelago in the South Male Atoll, surrounded by pristine white sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. In total, it has 120 detached villas, including 56 water villas and 64 beachfront villas, and 10 hotel-managed residences. The area of the villa is 200 square meters, up to 1000 square meters, and will become one of the largest hotel villas in the area. Each villa is equipped with a private pool and expansive sea views.
