In order to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the publication of Mao Zedong's "Speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art" and to relive the spirit of literature and art to serve the broadest masses of the people, on April 29, the Fifth "Mei Lanfang Research Youth Forum" and the Awarding Ceremony of the Top Ten Papers, co-sponsored by the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall and the China Mei Lanfang Culture and Art Research Association, were held in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, all the participants watched the precious speech video that Mei Lanfang gained from her experience in studying the "Speech at the Yan'an Literary and Art Forum" that year. Director Liu Zhen said in his speech that the "Mei Lanfang Youth Forum" serves as a platform for young scholars to study Mei Lanfang and exchange Peking Opera art, and encourages young scholars to participate in activities, hoping to witness the growth of youth power through such activities. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the publication of the "Speech at the Yan'an Literary and Art Forum", which establishes the direction of literary and artistic creation and has an important impact; and Mei Lanfang's world outlook and artistic outlook have undergone tremendous changes through the study of the contents of the "Speech", which is an important node for him to become a people's artist. Ren Tingting, a lecturer at the China Academy of Performing Arts, said as a representative of the award-winning young scholars that she has participated in the "Mei Lanfang Research Youth Forum" for many consecutive years, and especially thanks to the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall for providing this academic platform, where young people in the field of opera studies can speak freely and communicate with senior and respected experts and scholars.

During the seminar, zhou Yude, Zheng Chuanyin, Shi Xusheng, Gu Shuguang, Liu Zhen and several experts and professors made special reports on the research methods and methods, dissemination and influence of Mei Lanfang and her performing arts system. Subsequently, 15 winners and nominees from the China Academy of Performing Arts, Chinese Min University, China Academy of Arts, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai University, Shanghai Theater Academy, Anyang Normal University and other units published papers, respectively, from Mei Lanfang's life research, performance theory, cultural exchanges and other aspects of in-depth discussion of Mei Lanfang and her art, and several experts put forward valuable opinions on different issues.
Professor Zhou Yude commented that most of the award-winning articles belong to "gong pen" and "close-up" - select small topics, dig deeply, and see depth. Zheng Chuanyin, a professor at Wuhan University, said: "This paper is known for its special topic research, with small incisions, but a broad vision, sufficient theoretical preparation, and in-depth analysis. Each scholar has a strong sense of problems, can find problems, solve problems, avoid repetitive elaboration, and have a strong promotion of Mei Lanfang and opera research. Researcher Liu Zhen believes that the participation of some young actors and performance teachers will theoretically summarize the experience in practice and provide a source of power for the inheritance and teaching of Meipai art. The young scholars who participated in the seminar not only wrote the articles with quality, but also made their speeches very eloquent, showing the quality and level of the younger generation of scholars. Professor Shi Xusheng believes that from this forum, we can see that the academic research potential of Mei Lanfang and her art is very strong, and there is great hope for inheritance. Professor Gu Shuguang explained his concept of "Pear Garden Literature", believing that "there should be no fear of difficulties in doing scholarship, and important breakthroughs in the research of the most important figures and classic art can represent a major advance in research results." ”
