Each game of Elite Project is played in 8 rounds, and each round is divided into 5 stages.
In the initial event phase, each player flips open an event card, which is divided into three types: continuous, instant, and no effect.
Then enter the Alien Appearance phase, where alien forces will receive a certain number of reinforcements based on the difficulty level and number of players in the selected game. The player will flip open the Clan Card and the Alien Boss Card, and then place the Alien Model at the location of the appearance point on the map.
Then all players perform the action phase at the same time. This stage is 2 minutes long, with an electronic timer timing and players repeatedly throwing their dice and performing various actions.
Each player has four six-sided dice, five of which are action effects for moving, searching, activating equipment, handling events, and completing strategic objectives. Players can re-roll any number of dice, regardless of the number of times, and can choose to act on the dice or re-roll.
The last face, "Alien Movement", is a negative effect, and all players must settle when they roll this face - select any 1 Alien model on the map (either Clan or Leader) and move the model 1 block along the Alien's forward path. No other action or heavy roll of the dice can be performed before settlement.
After the two-minute time arrives, enter the alien activation phase. Aliens unleash the abilities on their attribute cards, and heroes take corresponding damage, and if they are injured beyond a certain threshold, they will lose a throwable action dice (which can be recovered by healing), and if they clear their health, they will be killed.
Finally, in the final stage, all players check the winner and loser, retract the action dice to remove the completed event card, reset the marker and the model that was put down.
In 8 rounds of the game, players must complete all mission objectives and return to the base (starting area) to win while killing alien aliens. If any of the team members are killed, there are aliens in the base, or the final goal is not completed, the game will immediately fail.

The highlight of The Elite Program is mainly the action phase of the real-time system. In just two minutes, the player frantically throws dice, moves models around the map, searches for weapon items, activates weapons to shoot aliens, distributes dice to complete missions... Two minutes flew by almost, and it was still unfinished.

Throwing more dice to get the dice you want is mostly a wise choice, but at the same time the chance of having the alien move the negative dice appear is greatly increased.
Outside the alien activation stage, the alien will also cause damage when it hits the player character when it moves, so the player should choose when moving his character and the alien, and almost all the movable areas on the map have arrows indicating the direction of movement, in order not to make the alien threat too large, how to move needs to be considered and quickly made a choice.
Event cards and bosses that bring negative effects generally do not appear in every turn. In the face of different situations in each round, players can also adjust their strategies, more aggressive when the pressure is lighter, defend the initial area and prevent death in adverse situations, and so on.
Fortunately, the game is not always real-time, before the start of the action phase and after the settlement of each round, players can discuss the general strategy of the current round together, and adapt to the action at the beginning of the action. This setting makes cooperation between players more purposeful and planned.
Coupled with the time it takes players to discuss countermeasures and set up and settle, each game takes about 30-60 minutes, which is a great choice for starting a board game night.
