Narmai: The man who unified Upper and Lower Egypt, the man who was taken away by the hippopotamus

author:Learn a little historical self-defense

3100 BC First Dynasty of Egypt Narmai

The Nile Valley is bounded to the north by Lower Egypt and to the south by Upper Egypt (the Nile flows from north to south and the south to the upper reaches). The southern river valley is flanked by desert and mountainous terrain on both sides, while the northern part is dominated by the Nile Delta, which eventually flows into the Mediterranean Sea.

The boss (king) of upper Egypt wears a white cylindrical crown with a tit-for-tat crown, and the boss of lower Egypt wears a red crown with a curly cobra at the front, and the king is protected by a cobra goddess who can spit (venom) at her enemies.

Around 3100 BC, Upper Egypt, protected by the vulture goddess, unified Upper and Lower Egypt under King Narmay (whose name means "ferocious and sinister catfish"), creating the first empire, and one of the longest-surviving empires in the world.

Lower Egypt, guarded by cobras, eventually lost to Upper Egypt protected by vultures...

Narmai: The man who unified Upper and Lower Egypt, the man who was taken away by the hippopotamus

The First Dynasty began.

In the later history of Egypt, the King of Egypt was called the "Lord of the Two Lands", and his double crown consisted of the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and the White Crown of Upper Egypt, with red above the white. The vultures representing the south are majestic in the sky, and the cobras representing the north are entrenched on the ground, guarding this unified kingdom.

Narmay built a new city at the apex of the delta to celebrate the victory of Memphis, and from then on Memphis became the center of the new kingdom. Memphis means "white wall" and is named after the stucco that shines in the sun. The city is strategically located to control both the valley in the south and the delta in the north. Memphis happened to be at the fulcrum of the balance between the two kingdoms.
