After completing the enforcement of the final round of the World Preliminary Round of 12 at home against Lebanon in Iran on March 29, the four Chinese referees Maning, Fu Ming, Cao Yi and Shi Xiang did not return to China, but went directly from Iran to Saudi Arabia to report to the AFC Referee Working Group to participate in the enforcement of this year's AFC Champions League West Asia Regional Group Stage. The AFC will arrange all five group matches in this year's AFC Champions League West Asia region in Saudi Arabia, and because FIFA will soon finalize the referee list for this year's Qatar World Cup, and the AFC Champions League is also the first intercontinental event hosted by the AFC this year after the Round of 12, the referee's performance in the AFC Champions League will affect whether it can finally enter the World Cup referee list. Therefore, these four Chinese referees chose to go to Saudi Arabia, to some extent, to make the final efforts and sprints for Chinese referees to re-enter the World Cup after a gap of 20 years.
At present, the AFC has a total of 8 groups of referees included in the list of candidates for the World Cup, Maning and two assistant referees Cao Yi and Shi Xiang are one of them, and the other seven groups include Australia's Beas, Bahrain's Nawaf Shuklala, Iran's Farhani, Japan's Takahashi Sato, Jordan's Mark Hademeh, Qatar's Jassim, uae's Mohammed Hassan and other referees led by the national referee group.
In these eight groups of referees, Iran's Fahani, Bahrain's Nawaf, The Uae's Hassan, Japan's Ryuji Sato and other four head coaches are the main referees who have enforced the 2018 World Cup in Russia, while Qatar's Jassim participated in the last World Cup as an assistant video referee; another Uzbek referee Who participated in the enforcement work of the last World Cup, Ilmatov, has hung up his guard three years ago and has now become the first vice president of the Uzbek Football Association.

It should be pointed out that Fu Ming is the law enforcement work of the "VAR video assistant referee", and he served as a VAR video assistant referee during the Tokyo Olympic Games last year, but because VAR video technology was not used during the AFC Champions League group stage in Saudi Arabia, Fu Ming still participated in law enforcement as the main referee.

Japan's Sato has played law enforcement in two games throughout the West Asia region, including a 1-1 draw with Iran's Vlad in the Uae's Shab'akhli and Qatar's Garafa's 1-0 defeat to Iranian Vlad, while Manin and Jordan's Mark Hademeh both played in four matches. In a way, this is the AFC's final examination of the two referees Manin and Mark Hadmaech. According to statistics, Manin showed a total of 16 yellow cards and 1 red card in 4 games, while Mark Hardmacher showed a total of 14 yellow cards and no red cards. Both belong to the referees who have accumulated more red and yellow cards, but not the most, and Manin has accumulated more red and yellow cards, which is largely related to the final round of the fourth group match between the law enforcement Team Saudi Tawan and the Uzbek Cotton Farmers. Because it was a matter of whether The Shat Tawang could qualify, Manin showed eight yellow cards in this match. [This also makes the two Chinese assistant referees the most participating in the law enforcement of the AFC Champions League in The West Asia Region, each with 5 games.] In the other two matches, Fu Ming first teamed up with two assistant referees from Malaysia and Sri Lanka to enforce the Saudi Shabab team against India's Mumbai team, and the fourth official was from Singapore, and then together with three South Korean referees (the fourth officer was Kim Dae-yong) to enforce the final crucial match of the fifth group that was related to qualifying.

After all, it has entered the final sprint stage of the World Cup, and if you want to impact the World Cup, you need to accept the call at any time, participate in the law enforcement work of related events, and also accept FIFA's arrangements to participate in multiple seminars and business learning before the World Cup.
Because of this, the four Chinese referees decided to stay in Saudi Arabia temporarily. Of course, if you stay overseas, it will greatly affect the normal work of the unit where these four referees are located. However, fortunately, the unit where these four referees are located still gives active support, after all, it is not easy for Chinese referees to enter the World Cup, since the 2002 World Cup, Chinese referees have the opportunity to reopen the door of the law enforcement World Cup for the first time in 20 years, so under such an opportunity, not only the four referees have been working hard, but their units have also provided them with the greatest convenience.
According to the AFC competition arrangement, from May 18 to 24, the three groups of the AFC-sponsored secondary club event, the AFC Cup, will be played in Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, and the South Asian region will be played in India. Unsurprisingly, the four Chinese referees will most likely be assigned by the AFC to play in one of the groups. After that, the AFC is scheduled to play in the final stage of the fifth U23 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan from June 1 to 19, and four Chinese referees may also be assigned by the AFC to participate in law enforcement work, and the final stage of the U23 Asian Cup will use VAR technology, and Fu Ming will also be useful.
Under such circumstances, these four Chinese referees may not be able to compete in the first stage of the domestic Chinese Super League. But in order for Chinese referees to re-enter the World Cup, it is also worth temporarily absent from the Chinese Super League!
