Alvin faces a difficult decision in The Lord of the Rings to leave Middle-earth with her people or stay with Aragon for a shorter life. However, despite Elrond's warnings that the presence of mortals is frustrating, Arwen chooses to be with the love of her life. It made fans wonder what happened to her after the war.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Alvin is reunited with Aragon at his coronation. When the elves sailed to the west, she stayed behind to marry Aragon and become queen of Gondor. She even ceded her place on the ship to Frodo, one of the last to leave Middle-earth and visit the Immortal Lands. This made Alvin one of the few elves still on the continent, with the few remaining being mainly wood elves who favored the forest.

But as the story ends in The Return of the King, author JRR Tolkien writes about the lives of many of the characters after the war. The appendix shows that because of his legacy, Aragon also became king of Arno. However, the area has been ravaged by war, and as queen, Arwin had to help restore the kingdom to its former state and restore the population it had hundreds of years ago. The book also reveals that in the years after the war, Gondor and Arno prospered and were rebuilt with the help of the dwarves.

Just a year after Sauron's defeat, Alvin and Aragon had their first child, Erdarian. He was their only son, but the couple did have several unnamed daughters over the next few years. But throughout the Quaternary, physical age began to catch up with those of Alwy and Aragon, and their sons became the next heirs to the throne. Aragonese descent comes from the Dunedins, an ancient human race that is different from everyone else'. That means he's stronger, smarter, healthier, and lives longer. However, he could only live for a few hundred years, and Alvin had to make another difficult decision.

Most elves have no choice in their lives and have to accept their immortality. But because of Alvin's origins, she was given a rare opportunity to choose what she wanted. Her great-great-grandmother, Lucien, was an elf who married a man named Barron, and because of this, she had mortal blood on her, and she could accept death if she wanted to.

After 121 years together, Aragon finally died at the age of 210. Within a year, Alvin died of heartbreak and was buried with her husband. But their son Eldarion inherited their legacy and proved that Arwen got what she had always wanted from Aragorn's mortal life.
