On April 28, Weibo administrators announced that they would further upgrade the IP territorial function, and Weibo users would display their location in comments and personal homepages. Domestic users will be displayed to the province/region, and foreign users will be displayed to the country. This feature cannot be turned on or off by the user.
Previously, Weibo said that it would reduce bad behaviors such as impersonating parties to hot events, malicious rumors, and rubbing traffic, ensure the authenticity and transparency of the content disseminated, and launched in March this year to display the user's "IP territory" function.
The announcement said that the IP territory displayed on the user's personal homepage is determined according to the IP territory of the user's blog, comment and voting. The station only displays the corresponding IP location, does not obtain other information, positioning according to the operator's IP information analysis, if there is a problem, please consult the corresponding operator.
