Tesla CEO Elon Musk reached a final deal with Twitter's board on Monday to buy twitter's social networking platform for $54.20 per share. Musk said, "Free speech is the cornerstone of democracy, and Twitter is a digital speech square where matters of great importance to the future of humanity can be discussed." However, former U.S. President Donald Trump, whose account was banned by Twitter, refused to return to Twitter on Monday.
Musk's business empire has since officially entered the social networking space, and despite opposition from Twitter's board during the acquisition process, Musk announced less than two weeks ago that he would acquire the platform. Musk has declared that only he can unleash Twitter's "extraordinary potential." Musk completed financial arrangements involving the acquisition last week, speeding up discussions between Twitter's board and Musk's acquisition. Twitter went public in 2013, Musk successfully privatized, and Twitter will end its listed company status. In what direction Twitter will expand in the future, it is not yet possible to see. But with Musk's acquisition, Twitter will certainly be affected in the direction of development. Musk is a big Twitter player with more than 80 million followers. He claimed Twitter did not fulfill its freedom of expression and therefore offered the takeover. In the direction of free speech should be more bold.
