Question in this issue: How do ordinary people distinguish between real and fake oil?
First, observe the appearance of the packaging.
I specially spent a huge amount of 79 yuan, from the online personal store to buy a pot of a certain Fu 4 liters of SP level 5W-30 oil, equivalent to a unit price of 19.75 yuan per liter, this price believes that I do not need to say, everyone should know that this is false, I previously bought the same genuine oil price on a Fu official website is 75 yuan 1 liter, just to compare the two.
As shown in the picture above, the appearance of 2 pots of oil seems to be no different at first glance, but from the details, the printing of this pot of oil that I purchased on the official website looks obviously clearer and fuller. The pot of 79 pieces of motor oil in the online shopping personal store, the printing feeling is very rough, obviously there are some graininess, and the color contrast is relatively high, giving people a very inferior feeling.
Second, scan the bottle body anti-counterfeiting code.
As shown above, I first used my mobile phone to scan the anti-counterfeiting code of the oil bottle I purchased in the official channel, and the pop-up page showed the full name, label, volume and an anti-counterfeiting identification of the product, and then put the anti-counterfeiting code on the bottle and the scanned anti-counterfeiting code together, comparing the distribution of the number and anti-counterfeiting points of the 2 codes, it is obvious that it looks exactly the same.
Then click on the product traceability on the page, you can see where the product is out of the warehouse, where to enter the warehouse and the time of leaving the warehouse, and there is also a serial number of the anti-counterfeiting logo on the top, and the serial number under the bottle body anti-counterfeiting code can also be completely aligned.
Then you can also see its product batch number, and the product batch number printed on the bottle body is also completely matched, including the production date of the query, and the bottle body is also completely corresponding. All were produced on December 16, 2021.
Then I used my mobile phone to scan the anti-counterfeiting code of this pot of oil that I bought for 79 yuan, and the page that jumped out was the same as before, and there was also an anti-counterfeiting code, but after comparison, I found that the number of the problem and the anti-counterfeiting point were obviously different, so the anti-counterfeiting code was not right.
But the strange thing is that the anti-counterfeiting identification serial number can be matched! Including this query time and query times is also the same as the time and number of times I queried. And click on the product traceability, production date and production batch number can be matched with the bottle body.
Therefore, if you inquire from the anti-counterfeiting code, the anti-counterfeiting code serial number, production date, and production batch number of the positive oil and the fake oil can be completely matched, and the only difference is that the anti-counterfeiting point of the fake oil is not matched.
Third, smell the smell of motor oil.
The pot of oil I bought on the official website had been opened in the previous show, so I first smelled the oil I bought on the official website, and I smelled that the pot of oil obviously had a sour smell of orange.
This I think is the taste that a bottle of genuine motor oil should have, and many other oils also have this faint sour aroma.
But when I was about to smell another pot of cheap oil, I had a problem that was not a problem, that is, the cap of this oil pot was very difficult to open, and I finally put on rubber gloves to unscrew it.
The sealing design of the pot mouth after opening is the same as that of other fu fu oils, and after tearing the seal paper, I smelled it, but the pot oil smelled like it had been burned.
The smell is the same as the smell of oil leaking from the engine dripping onto the exhaust pipe, so this cheap bottle of oil is definitely a bit of a problem.
And I also found that the biggest difference is still in the position of the sealing, the above picture is the comparison of the sealing of 2 bottles of motor oil, I believe that I do not need to say more, everyone can see the difference between the sealing with the naked eye.
Therefore, just from the appearance and smell of this pot of cheap oil, it can be basically judged that this pot of oil is fake oil.
Fourth, refrigeration oil.
The slightly better engine oil for family cars will basically use three types of base oil plus four types of base oil, which has the characteristic of being able to remain clear and turbid when it is about -18 degrees Celsius.
Because of the manufacturing cost and process problems, the fake machine oil may not even reach the level of the three types of base oils, so it will basically become very turbid below minus ten degrees.
Just our ordinary household refrigerator freezer can generally reach about -18 degrees Celsius, so everyone after buying the oil first do not rush to use, you can pour the oil out a little bit, and then put it in the refrigerator to freeze all night, the next day to see if it becomes turbid.
As shown above, I poured 2 pots of oil into 2 test tubes, and then put them in the refrigerator for one night, the pot of oil purchased in the official channels is still clear and transparent, and the four liters of FU SP grade 5W-30 oil bought for 79 yuan have become very turbid.
Of course, this test only helps us to assist in judgment, and is not completely accurate. Because if the oil you buy is based on the three types of base oils, then in the refrigerator of -18 degrees Celsius will also be frozen very turbid, because the turbidity of the three types of base oils is about minus twelve degrees.
So if you can, it is best to adjust the refrigerator to negative ten degrees and then do this freezing test, which can help us identify fake oil more accurately.
5. Mixer oil.
Because the oil in the engine will be constantly compressed, sprayed, stirred, so there will be a large number of bubbles and foam, these bubbles and foam will reduce the oil pressure of the engine, thereby affecting the overall lubrication effect of the engine.
The most important thing is that once these bubbles are broken under the high pressure of the engine, they will have an impact on the key parts of the camshaft and crankshaft that need to be repeatedly rubbed between the metal, resulting in cavitation on the metal surface, and the wear on the crankshaft tiles of many engines is generated in this way.
Therefore, some defoamers that increase the surface tension of the oil, such as non-silicone defoamers of methyl silicone oil, will be added to the oil to reduce the dissipation time of small bubbles and foam in the oil.
However, whether there is an antifoam in the fake oil is a mystery, because some fake oil is recovered from the used oil, and the defoamer component inside has long been attenuated or invalidated, so it can be used to help judge the authenticity of the oil by stirring the oil.
I also bought an egg beater and stirred the two same oils I bought, each for 30 seconds.
After the mixing is complete, I can see a clear difference at a glance, the oil I bought in the official channel is obviously less foam, and the cheap side is obviously more foam. After three minutes I looked at the foam of the two oils, and to be honest it looked pretty much the same.
But the difference began to appear after ten minutes, and after ten minutes the oil purchased by the official channel, basically the bubbles and bubbles on the surface had dissipated, and only there were some very small bubbles inside the oil. After ten minutes on the bargain side, the foam and bubbles on the surface have not completely dissipated, and they are still very obvious, and there are also a lot of small bubbles inside.
After 15 minutes, the contrast between the two is even more obvious, the official channel has no bubbles at all, and the bargain still has a lot of small bubbles.
So this experiment can also be done at home, and many bubbles from fake oil stirred up take several hours to completely dissipate, which is very outrageous. Therefore, combining the above points, we can judge that the pot of oil I bought for 79 yuan is a pot of fake oil.
