Kevin Durant is touted as the league's most unstoppable scorer and arguably one of the most unstoppable scorers of all time, one-on-one defensive tasks he is almost impossible to accomplish, and everyone believes Durant can beat almost everyone in the league. But so far, Durant's dominance has not been shown in the playoffs this season, Durant was thwarted by the Boston Celtics' tenacious defense, and his Nets suffered an embarrassing 0-3 deficit in the first round.
Of course, the Nets and their fans will also have plenty of excuses, and they'll say it's not just the Celtics' defense that limits Durant's shooting, but Durant's own shots are so poor that his shooting percentage in this year's playoffs is far below his usual standards, and the coaching staff and his teammates can't do anything about it.
In this series, Durant still averaged 22 points per game, but in the first three games he did not shoot more than 10, shooting a total of 19 of 52, shooting as low as 36%, and although his three-point shooting rate is as high as 40%, so far, he has only shot 10 three-pointers in the entire series.
The Nets were supposed to have the most unstoppable offensive firepower in the league, and even though they were missing Joe Harris and Ben Simmons, Durant and Irving were among the most talented offensive players of their generation, some even saying they were the most skilled offensive combinations ever, but the singles show they've been playing looks like they're pandering to the Celtics' defensive plans and don't pose much of a challenge to their opponents.
No team can turn the tables around 3-0 in the playoffs, and the Nets don't have any signs that they can be the first team to change history, but once the Nets are swept in the first round, then Durant will be heavily criticized, so I believe he should have a good performance in the next game, so they can at least go home fishing with a slightly decent total score of 1-4.
