Dayu zhishui, passed down through the ages. According to legend, when Yu Shu Jiuhe was in that year, he led the crowd to the territory of the present Yu City, built a mound in the Guqiu tribe to check the water conditions, and fixed the direction of the Jiu River. Later generations named this mound Mount Guqiu. In the first year of Tang Tianbao, this place was established as a county, and in order to commemorate the merits of Dayu, it was named Yucheng County, which was followed until 1993 AD, and the county was withdrawn and set up as a city, renamed Yucheng City.

According to the Old Chronicles: "There is a roll of stone ears on Mount Guqiu, and the Book of Zhi Nai Te says: 'Yu Gu Ho Ya?' The one who says Yu rules the water and tastes it, in order to look at the water potential, and eight years outside, the earth is flat, and the heavens are perfect. The name of the old county is Yuchengyi.

In the ancient city of Yuyi, there is a stone carving on the top of the four square city gates, engraved with the name of the city gate. The south gate is "Yu Trace", which is based on the ancient city of Yuxi in the south of the city; the east gate is "Zhu'a", which is to commemorate the ancient name of Zhu'a County; the north gate is "Duyang", which is a memorial to Zhu Kegu, Zhu Ke was also called "Duyang" in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and Duyang was falsely called "Duyang"; the west gate is "ManeJin", which is named after the Manejin Bridge outside the West Gate. The names of the four city gates are written by famous masters, and the engraved list books are powerful and simple. The east gate stone carving "Zhu A" and the south gate stone carving "Yu Trace" are now stored in the Yuwangting Museum.

The two sides behind the stele are the stele corridors, which are inlaid with the fine works of contemporary old, middle-aged and young calligraphers, and in the middle of the stele corridor is the "Enjoyment Hall", which is sculpted with the statue of Yu Wangzhi and the Jiuding model (Chuanyu dingjiuzhou here to cast jiuding). According to the information, Qing Jiaqing's "Chronicle of Yucheng County" says: "Gu Qiu, ten miles west of the city, the legend of Yu Zhishui built here, in order to look at the water potential." As the saying goes: Ten Mile Look. "Yucheng County Chronicle Supplement" contains: The west of the city is Qiu, also known as Beiqiu, and it is said that the Great Yuzhi River was built here to look at the water Qiu. In the 50th year of the Kangxi Dynasty, ZhiXian Zengjiugao set up 54 acres of sacrificial land; in the second year of Yongzheng, Qiu Shang was rebuilt.

Archaeology confirms that this is the site of the Yongsan culture more than 4,000 years ago. In 1974, a layer of gray soil was discovered here, and stone shovels, stone axes, bone needles, armor, pottery spinning wheels, eggshell pottery pieces and other production and living tools left by the ancients were excavated.

Before the Tang Dynasty, in order to commemorate the merits of Dayu for the benefit of the people, the local people filled the soil several times to the hill, carried trees to plant grass, and built a grass pavilion on the hill to enshrine the spiritual seat of King Yu and pray for the peace of the people. At the beginning of the establishment of Yucheng County in the Tang Dynasty, the county ordered the people to respect the people's opinion, built the Yuwang Temple on Chengxi Street, and built a brick and wood structure Yuji Pavilion on the guqiu to provide for the throne of Yu Wang, Feng Lichun, Chongyang, and the county order and the people to worship Yu Wang.

From the Tang Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty, due to wars and famines, Yu Ji Pavilion was destroyed and rebuilt several times. Tomorrow, four years later, ten miles to see the wu surname squire, advocate the villagers to build the YuWang Pavilion on the old site of Yu Ji Pavilion. In the 50th year of the Kangxi Dynasty, The Guangdong people Zeng Jiugao served as the commander of Yucheng County, raised donations to rebuild the Yuwang Pavilion, and personally inscribed the plaque "Shengong Qiangu" and personally wrote the inscription "Yuting Record" (now exhibited in the Yuwang Pavilion). After leaving office, the people felt their achievements in Yu and donated money to engrave the "Monument to Go to Think" to be erected in the Pavilion of King Yu (the original stele still exists).

In the second year of Yongzheng, the Yuwang Pavilion was renovated and expanded again, and it was even more magnificent. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the yuwang pavilion was full of incense. The Japanese invaded China, the east and west halls of the Yuwang Pavilion were blown up, and the front of the main hall was destroyed and demolished. In the early days of the "Cultural Revolution" in 1966, in the "Breaking of the Four Olds", yuwang pavilion was completely demolished, and only the weeds and desolate hills remained, and in February 1977, after the examination of archaeologists, it was a Longshan cultural site and was designated by the provincial government as a key cultural relics protection unit in Shandong Province.

After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, Yucheng's economy was prosperous and socially stable, and people at home and abroad and local people looked forward to restoring the original appearance of Yuwangting and letting the spirit of Dayu be carried forward. In response to the will of the people, in 1995, the Yu city government decided to rebuild the Yuwang Pavilion and the Yuwang Pavilion, and all sectors of society actively donated funds to provide cultural relics and historical materials, and the first phase of the Yuwang Pavilion project was completed in 1997.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the Yucheng government once again renovated the Yuwang Pavilion, and after renovation and improvement, the "Yuwangting Museum" now displayed in front of us is an ancient cultural park. This time, Yuwangting Archaeological Site Park was selected as the first batch of provincial archaeological site parks in Shandong Province, which plays an important role in promoting the high-quality development of culture and tourism in our city.

In ancient times, Dayu led the people to rule the water for thirteen years, opening Kyushu, Tongjiu Dao, Pi Jiuze, and Du Jiu Shan, in order to dredge up the blockage, turn harm into profit, and eventually become a great cause of a generation. The modern people of Yucheng adhere to the spirit of Dayu, work hard, take the lead in development, and vigorously develop economic and social health. Yucheng, this ancient and vibrant new city, is walking towards us with vitality.
