Beijing, 28 Sep (China News Service) -- The Second Cross-Strait Symposium on Jointly Inheriting China's Excellent Traditional Culture was held at the Confucius Institute in Beijing on 28 September. On the same day, for the birthday of Confucius, the college held a ceremony to commemorate the 2572 birth anniversary of Confucius, the most holy ancestor of Dacheng, with the participation of teachers and students.
At the meeting, Mou Xiaochun, member of the Standing Committee of the Haidian District CPC Committee of Beijing Municipality, said in his speech that this seminar is a useful attempt to promote the rejuvenation of outstanding traditional Chinese culture and integrate into the new era, and hopes that through the meeting, the cultural consensus of compatriots on both sides of the strait will be more condensed, so that young people on both sides of the strait can remember and feel history, and jointly shoulder the mission of the times of innovating and carrying forward Chinese culture. She expressed the hope that more Taiwan compatriots will actively participate in the pattern of the mainland's new development and work together to paint a future picture of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the new era.

Hong Xiuzhu, former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang and chairman of the China Qingyan Peace Education Foundation, said in his congratulatory letter that Confucius set an example for future generations of the Chinese nation. She pointed out that the humanistic spirit and connotation contained in traditional Chinese culture are the cultural consensus of the two sides of the strait. She hopes that young people in the Internet age can further understand the traditional Chinese culture, take the spirit inherited by the Chinese nation for thousands of years as the foundation, and be a confident and dignified Chinese.
In the speech session, Guo Qijia, vice president of the Chinese Confucius Society, pointed out that the important role of Confucius and Confucianism in the modern world should be fully understood. Confucianism contains the spirit of integration and harmony, and is the source of the river that promotes the peaceful reunification of the two sides of the taiwan strait.
Ma Xiaoguang, director of the Information Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and press spokesman, attended the event. Wang Jie, director of the National Taiwan Cadre Training Center of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Yang Qingliang, executive director of the Taiwan Trinity Huanyu Cultural Association, and Li Daoxiang, former provost of the Central Socialist College, made keynote speeches.
Taiwanese filmmaker Tu Shengcheng said in an interview that the times need young people with courage, "young people have blood, strength and self-confidence, we can fight a world." He hoped that young people on both sides of the strait could promote traditional culture and speak for the country together.
