Named after the German scholar and writer Brother Grimm, the Jacob Wilhelm-Green Center was officially opened in October 2009 as the main library of Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, with a collection of about 2.5 million volumes, of which about 2 million are available for borrowing. The central area, consisting of multi-storey stepped reading areas, grid-like walls and overhead skylights, is a feature of the Jacobs-William-Green Center.
