Little White Lies, a well-known film magazine, has selected 50 of the best films of the 21st century by film critics, including original films that are not sequels, remakes, adaptations and derivative films.
In the first place is Wong Kar-wai's "Fancy Years", and the works of Cai Mingming, Yang Dechang and Hou Xiaoxian have all been shortlisted.
1. "The Wonder Years" Wong Kar Wai (2000)
Set in Hong Kong in the 1960s, the film tells the story of Su Lizhen and Zhou Muyun, who began to contact each other and developed feelings after discovering that their respective spouses had an extramarital affair.
2. "Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch (2001)
The film tells the story of Rita and Betty, a girl who aspires to be a Hollywood actress, after a car accident on the winding Mulholland Road that makes her lose her memory, around Los Angeles in search of clues and answers, followed by a twisted adventure beyond dreams and reality.
3. "Parasite" Bong Joon-ho (2019)
The film tells the story of Kim Ki-taek, the father of a family of four unemployed vagrants, who spends his days idle, until the positive eldest son Kim Ki-woo comes to the home of the rich President Park with a forged diploma to apply for tutoring, and the two families are involved in a series of accidents.
4. "Warmth contains light" by Michel Gondry (2004)
Joel discovers that his ex-girlfriend Clementina has used advanced equipment to wash away the unpleasant memories of the two of them getting along, so Joel also decides to wash away the memories. But when the memories are washed away bit by bit, he rediscovers Clementina's strengths and tries his best to preserve the remaining memories
5. The First Reformed Church, Paul Schrader (2017)
The film tells the story of a former army priest who lost her son in the war, and Mary, a pregnant woman who is struggling with pain.
6. The Phantom Sewer, Paul Thomas Anderson (2017)
The film tells the story of a famous tailor in post-war London in the 1950s, when the famous tailor Reynolds Woodcock meets the young and attractive-looking waitress Alma, who initially regards her as her goddess and then as her lover.
7. "Escape from Breaking Bad" by Jordan Peel (2017)
The film tells the story of Chris, a black lad, who is together with his white girlfriend Ruth, when he discovers that he has fallen into an evil racial conspiracy.
8. The Tree of Life by Terrence Malik (2011)
The film begins with a family living in the Midwest in the United States in the 1950s, and follows the life of the eldest son, Jack, through his innocent and innocent childhood to disillusioned adulthood, where he seeks to reconcile with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played by Sean Penn in adulthood) discovers that he has lost his soul in modern society, and he searches for the origin of life and the answer to meaning, torturing the existence of faith.

10. "Love Syndrome", Apichatpong Welashagu (2006)

11. "Love at Sunset" by Richard Linklater (2004)
The film is the sequel to Love at Dawn, which tells the story of Jesse, who has become a best-selling author nine years later, and Selina, who works for an environmental protection organization in France, meet again in Paris and have a short but beautiful time.
12. The Garden of Eden, Mia Hansen-Love (2014)
The film tells the story of Henry Hart's return to the Great Eden to visit his sick grandfather, and in the small town Henry slowly begins to harvest friendship and love.
13. "Not Scattered" Cai Liangming (2003)
The film depicts three stories of the last night in the old theater, the lame female conductor has a crush on the projectionist, the Japanese youth looking for gay comfort, and the old actor mourns the scenery of the past through the martial arts film "Dragon Gate Inn".
14. "One-One" Yang Dechang (2000)
The lead actor in this film tells the story of the respective life trajectories of Jane Nanjun's family until the death of her mother-in-law.
15. "Depression" by Russ von Thiel (2011)

16. The Genius, Wes Anderson (2001)

21. "Bucklaw", Juliano Dohenellis, Cléber Mendoza Jr. (2019)
The film tells the story of villagers who find their village disappearing from the map.
22. "Sister Ada", Pavyu Pavlikovsky (2013)
The film tells the story of an orphan who grew up in a monastery and leaves the monastery to meet the only relative in the world before he takes the oath to become a nun.
23. Cult Studios, Peter Strickland (2012)
Cult Studio is a horror film directed by British director Peter Strickland, starring Toby Jones, Cosimo Fosco and others.
24. Frances Ha, Noah Baumbach (2012)
The film mainly tells the story of dancer Frances who strives to pursue her dream of dancing and the friendship between her and her friend Sophie
25. "Margaret", Kenneth Lonergan (2011)
Based on the story of the bizarre soprano Florence Foster Jenkins, the film is set in Paris, France in the 1920s, and tells the story of a woman's tragic life.
