Not yet married, this post-90s boy actually took the initiative to do ligature surgery!

In the eyes of many people, male sterilization is a rare phenomenon, and some people will find it difficult to understand.

What kind of intention did they have to perform the ligation operation, and what did they go through?

We interviewed 3 men to hear what they had to say:

4 questions related to ligation:

Q1

Although the male ligation procedure is simple, it is also risky.

Although vasectomy is a minimally invasive procedure, there is still a risk of complications, with pain syndrome occurring in about 1 to 2 percent of men and a very small number of men developing hematoma, wound infection, and epididymal stasis [4,5].

Therefore, it is recommended that you carefully consider and at the same time be sure to choose a regular hospital.

Although most people recover quickly after surgery, it is still recommended to avoid strenuous exercise (including that aspect) and seek medical attention in time once there is pain, redness and swelling.

Q2

After ligation, it is recommended to review the semen and still need to wear a condom for a period of time.

There may still be residual sperm in the semen for 2 to 3 months after ligation, and condoms are still recommended for some time after ligation [6].

Routine semen cannot be routinely checked until no sperm is detected.

In addition, condoms have the effect of avoiding sexually transmitted diseases.

Q3

Regarding the success rate of condoms, the success rate of completely correct use is 98%.

According to a large sample of follow-up observations, contraceptive success rates are 98% per year when condoms are used exactly correctly [8].

That is, of the 100 women with perfect condoms in their male partners, 2 women would become pregnant within a year; if not used exactly as directed, the contraceptive failure rate (not equal to the successful pregnancy rate) was 13%.

If you have no desire to have children, and you feel uncomfortable wearing a condom, or your wife is allergic to the condom, you can choose to ligature.

A little pain, a lifetime of happiness.

Q4

Re-access is more complicated than ligation, and if you are not sure whether you have the will to have children later, you should consider it carefully.

Vasectomy recanalization is more complex than ligation, but experienced physicians use microsurgical techniques that have a success rate of 80 to 90 percent [7,9].

If there is still a need for fertility, it is recommended to consider reversible contraceptive methods such as condoms, skin implants, and oral contraceptives.

Finally, there are many ways of long-term contraception, whether it is male ligation or female ligation/upper ring, it is invasive surgery, it is recommended that you fully understand the operation, combined with their own actual situation to choose.
