Li Xiaoqian's works exhibition: She is not the gazer, but the expression

Recently, "When She Decides not to Please Anymore - Li Xiaoqian's Works Exhibition" was held in LowLOWLAND Literary and Art Space in Dongshankou, young artist Li Xiaoqian, graduated from the Experimental Art Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree, and her works have participated in many art exhibitions at home and abroad, and have long-term commercial cooperation with magazines and brands. The exhibition will run until June 6.

This exhibition will present Li Xiaoqian's paintings from 2013 to the present for nearly a decade, from which we can see the changes in the creative context of a female artist - how she can go from depicting figurative beauty to excavating her inner thinking about herself. She began to explore more about the meaning of "beauty," not the traditional, disciplined aesthetic, but self-identified, self-conscious beauty. Li Xiaoqian's thinking on creation is also a very meaningful reference for contemporary women.

Li Xiaoqian said very frankly: "All the confusion, confusion, timidity and struggle are me. Although there are more vague and unclear emotional flows, there is always a reorganization that I do my best to get out of the whirlpool. ”

Li Xiaoqian began to explore more about the meaning of "beauty". Not the traditional, disciplined aesthetic, but the self-identified, self-conscious beauty. While examining herself, she constantly explores the conflicting relationship between the female self and social roles, trying to find a new look in the tearing of each other.

Feng Yingbin, curator of LOWLOWLAND Literary and Art Space, said: "It makes sense to make such an exhibition of paintings related to women. For a long time, we have become accustomed to the beauty that is placed in the temple, and the image of women is mostly associated with elegance. But this time, in this hidden environment, we can let go of all our presuppositions and feel the most intimate but authentic part of a woman – she is not the gazer, but the expressor, she does not need to be perfect, but she is a beauty. ”
