2. The sales market of self-propelled caravans has picked up

Self-propelled caravan refers to a motorized vehicle that has its own mobility and can rely on its own traction to move forward, with the advantages of simple operation, one vehicle and two uses, convenient parking, and powerful energy system, which is deeply loved by consumers. From 2017 to 2019, the sales of self-propelled motorhomes increased steadily, and in 2020, due to the impact of the epidemic, the sales of self-propelled motorhomes declined, falling to 8787 units. In 2021, under the influence of related policies such as further promoting bulk consumption and key consumption, coupled with the continuous impact of the new crown epidemic on the tourism service industry, domestic self-driving tours and caravan tours characterized by "low-density tourism" are highly sought after, the caravan market is picking up, and the sales of self-propelled caravans have increased to 12,582. The epidemic has changed the way people travel, and the public has shifted to a less public transportation and a more free itinerary, and caravan self-driving travel has become a popular travel option for many people. Sales of self-propelled motorhomes are expected to exceed 14,000 units in 2022.

3, C-type head shop caravan into the mainstream model

From the perspective of market segmentation, before 2019, the self-propelled caravan market was mainly dominated by B-type light passengers, and in 2019, B-type light guest cars mainly sold 4511 vehicles, with a market share of 72.4%. Since 2019, the sales of C-type head shop RVs have grown steadily, and the market share has continued to increase. In 2021, 8,991 C-type head shop motorhomes were sold, and its market share increased to 71.5%. It is expected that the C-type motorhome equipped with a "forehead bed" will become the most mainstream model on the road in the next 3-5 years.

4. The self-propelled caravan market gathers in Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu

The concentration of the mainland self-propelled caravan market is relatively high, the regional characteristics are more obvious, and the top 10 provinces in terms of sales volume have accumulated nearly 70% of the mainland self-propelled caravan market. Provinces with higher self-propelled motorhome sales due to the higher price of self-propelled motorhomes. In 2021, Jiangsu Province had the highest sales of self-propelled RVs, accounting for 16.7%. Shandong is close behind, with a market share of 10.0%. Zhejiang ranked third with a market share of 6.8%.

Second, the development prospects of self-propelled caravans

1. After the new crown epidemic, the willingness to spend on RVs will continue to increase

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the travel of target customers, providing potential impetus to drive future demand for self-driving motorhomes. The emerging need to invest in quality of life and share it with family and close friends is reflected in the self-driving motorhome lifestyle, allowing target customers to travel privately and safely, while providing a wealth of options for leisure and entertainment activities. The self-propelled motorhome buying trend is not expected to subside after the pandemic and will form a new normal.

2. The consumer group of self-propelled caravans has expanded

Among the groups that buy RVs, the elderly who have sufficient leisure time and economic foundation are the absolute main force. In recent years, the degree of population aging has continued to deepen. In 2021, China's population aged 60 and above was 267.36 million, an increase of 9.92 million over the previous year, accounting for 18.9% of the national population, an increase of 0.7 percentage points over the previous year. As the aging population continues to live at home, the consumer group of self-propelled motorhomes will continue to expand.

In addition, the affluent population will increase, and the self-propelled caravan consumer group will continue to expand. According to the "2021 Hurun Wealth Report", the number of "wealthy families" with a total wealth of 6 million yuan in China has reached 5.08 million, an increase of 70,000 over the previous year, with a growth rate of 1.3%, of which the number of "wealthy families" with 6 million yuan of investable assets has reached 1.83 million; the number of "high-net-worth families" with a total wealth of 10 million yuan has reached 2.06 million, an increase of 40,000 over the previous year, a growth rate of 2%.

3. The concept of consumption promotes the development of self-propelled caravans

Social media bloggers share their colorful RV life, so that more people know about RVs, and consumers get close to RVs. Self-propelled motorhomes fulfill consumers' dreams of "traveling with their homes". Motorhome travel is not only a way of travel and leisure, but also a new way of life. With the change of consumption concept, stimulate the consumption of self-propelled motorhomes.

4. The supporting facilities of the caravan camp are gradually improved

As an important package for motorhome tours, RV campsites are also an important part of motorhome travel. In recent years, the supporting facilities of the caravan camp have been gradually improved. The original camp is similar to a parking lot, which is equipped with water and electricity piles, which can be replenished with water and electricity after the caravan enters, and now the camp has added a lot of recreational projects, including some outward training outdoor projects, etc., which enriches the self-propelled motorhome camping life.
