According to the industry standard of WS/T 512-2016 "Management Specification for Environmental Surface Cleaning and Disinfection of Medical Institutions", it specifically refers to the non-woven fabric, fabric, dust-free paper or other raw materials as the carrier, purified water as production water, appropriate addition of disinfectants and other raw materials, made of cleaning and disinfection effect of the product, suitable for the human body, general object surfaces, medical device surfaces and other surfaces.
The difference between sanitary wipes and disinfectant wipes
The scope of adaptation varies
According to the mainland industry standard WS 575-2017 "Sanitary Wipes Hygiene Requirements", sanitary wipes are suitable for cleaning and sterilization of hands, skin, mucous membranes and ordinary surfaces. The scope of application of disinfectant wipes is mainly based on the group standard T/WSJD 001-2019 "Carrier Disinfectant Hygiene Requirements" issued by the China Health Supervision Association, which is also suitable for hands and complete skin, but not for mucous membranes, and is more suitable for environmental surfaces, medium and low risk medical device surfaces and medical supplies surface disinfection.

Can disinfectant wipes kill the novel coronavirus?
The novel coronavirus belongs to the β coronavirus, sensitive to ultraviolet rays and heat, ether, 75% ethanol, chlorine-containing disinfectants, peracetic acid and chloroform can inactivate the virus. Disinfectant wipes containing the above ingredients are theoretically effective against viruses.
However, it should be noted that ether and chloroform do not belong to the category of disinfection products; chlorine-containing disinfectants and peracetic acid are strong oxidizing substances, high-level disinfectants, corrosive irritation to the human body and metals, and should not be used for daily disinfection of environmental surfaces; 75% ethanol is flammable and explosive, not suitable for large-scale surface disinfection of ordinary objects.
What do I need to pay attention to when using disinfectant wipes?
While some disinfectant wipes are effective against the novel coronavirus, they can be counterproductive if used incorrectly. According to WS/T 512-2016 "Medical Institution Environmental Surface Cleaning and Disinfection Management Code", when disinfecting environmental surfaces, the use concentration and action time of disinfectant wipes should be used in strict accordance with product instructions.
According to the relevant standards, the disinfection time of disinfectant wipes for sanitary hands ≤ 1min, and the action time for environmental surfaces and ordinary surfaces ≤ 15min.
