The first "Spring of Chinese Music" National Music Theme Art Festival of the National Centre for the Performing Arts was launched on April 8 and will continue until April 28. As the first special planning festival on the theme of national music launched by the National Centre for the Performing Arts, "Spring of Chinese Music" adheres to the concept of inheriting and promoting the essence of national music, with a view to promoting the prosperity and development of China's national music industry.

Interpret the colors, lines and rhythms of folk music works

At the opening special planning concert, conductors Li Xincao, Lü Jia and Liu Sha joined hands with the Central Chinese Orchestra to bring national orchestral works such as "Yunshan Yanmiao", "General's Order" and "The Sum of Seven Colors" to the audience. It is worth mentioning that this performance is the first time that Li Xincao and Lü Jia have crossed the border to conduct folk music. Zhao Cong, head of the Central Chinese Orchestra, said that the invitation of the symphony conductor to conduct folk music this time hopes to achieve a combination of breadth and depth.

"The clouds and mountains are full of heavy returns, and the wind is thousands of miles away from dust and sand." At the concert that night, Lu Jia, who appeared first, conducted a song "Yunshan Yanmiao". "Yunshan Yanmiao" develops, variations and reconstructs the theme of the Chaozhou Zither "Hu Di Eighteen Beats", and under the direction of Lü Jia, reproduces the relics of the Han and Tang Dynasties and the magnificent atmosphere of Chaozhou music. "This is my first time conducting a national orchestra, and there is a new challenge and joy in working with national music players, especially the interpretation of the colors, lines and rhythms of folk music works, which is very fulfilling." Lu Jia said, "Although I have not conducted a folk orchestra before, I am very concerned about the development of national music. How to develop in depth and enlarge our national treasures is a major and urgent issue. As a conductor, I will do my part. ”

Li Xincao brought the national orchestral music "National Wind" and "Silk Road" to the audience. The new work "National Wind" specially commissioned by the Central Chinese Orchestra is based on the theme of the traditional work "Plum Blossom Three Alleys" as the motivation to carry out variations, and the orchestra, under the direction of Li Xincao, has a rich and changing tone, layer by layer, and staggered. Li Xincao said: "I have little involvement in large-scale ethnic orchestra, and this is the first time I have conducted a complete large-scale ethnic orchestra in Beijing. But I think that Eastern and Western music is still the same, and the requirements for syntax and musical character in the conducting of Western music are also applicable to Chinese national music. ”

Show the heritage, extensibility and artistry of folk music

With the theme of "National Style and Elegant Rhyme", the first "Spring of Chinese Music" invited nearly 10 national orchestras from all over the country to perform on stages such as the Concert Hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the Small Theater. Among them, there are chinese orchestras in Beijing such as the Central Chinese Orchestra, the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, the China Coal Mine Cultural and Labor Troupe, the Beijing Chinese Orchestra, the Chinese Orchestra of the China Conservatory of Music, and other Chinese orchestras in Beijing, as well as local Chinese orchestras such as the Suzhou National Orchestra, the Hebei Chinese Orchestra, and the Jilin Provincial Chinese Orchestra, playing the characteristic national music of different regions and showing the development of Chinese national music.

In terms of artistic lineup, three generations of Chinese music masters will perform on stage. In terms of performance repertoire, from ancient songs such as "Spring River Flower Moon Night" and "Overlord Unloading Armor" that have been passed down for many years, to the classics written by Peng Xiuwen, Hu Dengjiao, Liu Dehai, Gu Guanren and other composers of the older generation of Chinese composers, to the masterpieces of contemporary composers such as Shi Wanchun, Zhao Jiping and Zhang Qianyi, and then to the works of young composers, classics and innovative works coexist. Wang Luquan, deputy director of the Performance Department of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, said that the "Spring of Chinese Music" is a platform and stage for the concentrated display of Chinese national music, hoping to show the audience the heritage, extensibility and artistry of folk music. In terms of form, it includes solo, concerto, ensemble, folk music chamber music, etc.

The collision of Chinese and Western music has also become a highlight of this year's "Spring of Chinese Music". On April 21st, the China Conservatory of Music's Chinese Orchestra Concert will be held, presenting the magnificent musical collision of chimes and organs on the stage.

It is reported that the "Spring of Chinese Music" echoes the series of performances of the "Spring of Chinese Symphony" series of performances of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, which is intended to form a rich music-themed art festival. "The 'Chinese Symphony Spring' has been held for 14 years, and the launch of the 'Spring of Chinese Music' this year is opportune." The relevant person in charge of the National Centre for the Performing Arts said that the festival can show the inheritance and development of national music through the integration of traditional and modern interpretation.

Promote more people to understand and get close to national music

The closing concert of the "Spring of Chinese Music", which will be staged on April 28, is a "feast" for pipa. The performers of the Central Chinese Orchestra will work with pipa players Wu Yuxia, Zhao Cong, Chen Yin, Zhang Qiang, Yang Jing, etc., to bring pipa classics and new works such as "Liu Qingniang", "Bloom", "Spring of Tianshan", "Swan", "Spring and Autumn", etc. It is reported that starting from this session, each "Spring of Chinese Music" will explore and present a closing special planning concert with a musical instrument as the main instrument and the gathering of famous artists.

With the development of the times, Chinese national music is also constantly integrating and developing. The "Spring of Chinese Music" is showing the vigorous development and diversified pattern of national music. For example, the "Yin Chan Beauty Picture" staged in the opening special planning concert left a deep impression on many audiences. This is a folk music work created by Liu Sha, the permanent conductor of the Central Chinese Orchestra, who invited composer Luo Maishuo. The composer cleverly divides the 12 paintings into 4 movements, stringing the painting scenes into a whole with flowing rhythms.

Liu Sha said: "China's national orchestra has been developing for 100 years, and the development in the past 20 years has been particularly rapid, whether it is the production process of musical instruments, the level of contemporary performers, the level of orchestras, or the quality of creation of works, etc., they have improved rapidly. The 'Spring of Chinese Music' provides us with a good platform to promote the development and popularization of Chinese national music. ”

"The times are developing, and now the national style and national trend have become the trend." This year's 'Spring of Chinese Music' also reflects people's desire for China's excellent traditional culture. Zhao Cong said, "I hope to promote more people to understand and get close to national music." ”
