The Epic Game Store is now available with My Achievements

Three years after the launch of the Epic Game Store, the achievement feature has finally been updated, and the following is the official introduction:

The Epic Game Store is now available with My Achievements

As the Epic Game Store continues to improve, we want to announce to everyone what we plan for launchers and marketplaces. We're always working to improve the user experience and are eager to bring you multiple upgrades and new features.

My Achievements - Now live

Building on "My Achievements", which launched in November, we're releasing the next iteration update to the feature. Everyone with an Epic Games account now has their own My Achievements area. You can use this feature to publicly display a subset of your statistics.

It is the equivalent of a trophy display box with integrated Friends Center functionality. You can use your profile to show all users your Epic achievements and game progress. Let other users see your Virtuoso in Rocket League or what you've seen in Alan Wake Remastered. When you click a friend tab, you can visit your friend's page and see their achievements and progress. Here's how:

All users will have a profile icon that displays the initials of their user names. Users who visit your page will see the number of achievements you've unlocked, the name of the game where you've achieved a Platinum achievement, and your XP in the upper-right corner.

Let's get a little more detailed: the Achievements tab will show the progress of each game, list the number of achievements you've unlocked, the games you've played recently, and whether you've reached Platinum (unlock all achievements). After clicking on any game, you can browse the player's achievements in the game.

The Friends tab will show all your Epic Games friends in alphabetical order. If you have a large number of friends, the list will be displayed on several pages. Just click on a friend's name to view their page.

You have full control over the privacy settings of your account. For example, apply global settings to your account and limit users who have access to your profile to one of four categories: Public; Friends of Friends; Friends Only; And Only Yourself.

When you set your profile to Public, all features on your page are public. Others can see your achievements, progress, and friends list. If you set your account to access only these specific categories, any user who doesn't belong to the above group will only see your display name and avatar.

For players who don't have parental controls enabled, their profiles are viewed by default only by friends of their friends. For players with parental controls enabled, the default access to their profile is "Only for themselves". In subsequent releases, players will be able to customize the look and feel of their pages and unlock additional customization options by interacting with the Epic Achievement System.

Ratings & Polls - Coming Soon

After you've played a game, a pop-up window for ratings and polls will occasionally pop up in the launcher. Players will vote to answer a question with multiple options, or use "yes" or "no" to answer a question related to the game they just played. For example, we ask players the following questions: "How hard is this game for you?" And let the player choose one of the four options to answer. Your answers to these questions will be displayed on the game's Marketplace page for other players to refer to. As more and more people vote, the community's overall ratings and suggestions add up to help players understand the game's content.

Players' answers enrich our category pages and generate more custom categories that will appear on the Epic Game Store homepage.

Notification Hubs - Coming soon

The Epic Games launcher sends you a variety of notifications. Examples include friend invitations, wishlist notifications, and other pop-up notifications, which appear in different areas of the launcher. We'll be grouping these notifications in a separate notification center and plan to start with social updates and wishlist notifications. Eventually, all notifications will be displayed uniformly in the upper right corner of the Marketplace.
