Written more than 1,700 years ago, Pingfu Ti is the earliest and authentic Western Jin Dynasty master Fa Ti, which occupies an important position in the history of Chinese calligraphy and is of reference value for the study of text and calligraphy changes. From the existing historical records, it is generally believed that the "PingFu Ti" was written by Lu Ji to a friend in the early years of Emperor Wu of Jin. However, there are three main statements in the academic community about the identity of "friends":
First, it is believed that the friend "Yan Xian" is He Xun. According to Kao, "Ping Fu Ti" "Yan first wins the miasma, I am afraid it will be difficult to calm down", which means thin and tuberculosis, or cloud trapped in tuberculosis. Second, he believes that Lu Ji's letter should have been written to his relatives and friends Gu Rong. "Gu Rong and Lu Ji not only have a close relationship, but also are friends who share the same breathing and suffering. During the Three Kingdoms period, after Sun Ce's death, Sun Quan acted as a matchmaker and married the two daughters of his brother Sun Ce to the sons of the famous Eastern Wu general Lu Xun and Gu Yong, who was both Lu Ji's grandfather Lu Xun's uncle and Gu Rong's grandfather. The "Art and Literature Cluster" and the "Ping Yu Lan" contain Lu Ji's poems "Gifting Gu Yanxian Poems" and "Writing Poems for Gu Yanxian".
Third, it is believed that Lu Ji's "Ping Fu Ti" could not have been written during the first year of Jin Taikang (280) after Wu's death to the period when Lu Ji retired to Huating Township in Wu County (289), and should have been written after arriving in Luoyang, and it was a letter of greeting written to Huating's fellow villagers.
