Five-word near-body sentence summary Part 3, rare 1-2-2 structure, only these 1 sentence forms

preface

The first two articles talk about the sentence patterns of the 221 structure and the 212 structure, which have 8 categories each.

When learning these sentence patterns, you will find that the sentence forms are literally the same, but when analyzing the whole sentence, in fact, the order of the subject and the predicate may be different. For example, the 4th and 6th classes in the 221 sentence pattern are VN-VN-F, but the poetry is different.

Today, I will continue to introduce the 1-2-2 structured sentence form summarized by Mr. Wang Li, which is only 1 in the Chinese Poetic Law. The difference is that the last two words that are predicates are verbs or adjectives.

First, the color - inlin - to the back

Tang Dynasty Li Ji's "Hedges" poem Yun:

The east garden grows new shoots, and the hedge is repeated on the day.

Burst out of the green ridge, save the green pool.

Color-Inlin-to-back, line-to-place-high.

But fear of spring will be old, and the youth will be alone.

The neckline of the poem, the upper link is: N-vn-VV, color-inlin-back, the last two words are verbs.

The first word is the subject: color, back, face or back. Due to facing the woods or facing the woods, the color of the bamboo shoots will vary.

Uppercase indicates primary status, lowercase indicates secondary status, and it can be seen that the middle 2 words are secondary parts: Inlin, which plays the role of an adverb, and modifies the predicate behind: backwards.

Second, line-by-place-high

The lower link is: N-vn-FF, line-by-place-high. The last two words are adjectives.

Ok, here refers to the growth trend of bamboo shoots, which can be extended to status or origin, as a noun. The status of bamboo shoots will vary depending on the height of the place where they grow.

Of course, some people must think of "line" as a verb, and it can also make sense. The "line" of bamboo shoots becomes a dynamic change, and its color is also in the gradient.

Neither verbs nor nouns affect our understanding of the meaning behind these two couplets.

Although the individual parts of the word are different, the sentence form can be treated as the same. All are subject + predicate: color + back, line + high and low. The middle 2 words: inlin, land by place, modified predicate: back, high and low.

Third, borrow things to refer to people

The ancients chanted things, most of which had sustenance. In fact, most of them are chanters, borrowing chants to express their ambitions or evaluate someone.

In Li Ji's "Hedge Shoots", bamboo shoots are compared to different people in society. Shanglian means that some people "go to the door of the rich and follow the fat horse dust", and some people refuse to "urge the eyebrows to bend the waist and do things for the magnates", so the temperament (color) is different.

The gist of the lower link is that some people are born high and some people are born low, which is good at reincarnation. In other words, some people are good at drilling camps, and some people disdain to like climbing dragons and phoenixes or following the wrong people, so some people mix well, have high status, and some people mix poorly and have low status.

The first 4 sentences of this poem are endowments: The East Garden grows new shoots, and the sun is repeated through the fence. Burst out of the green ridge, save the green pool. The neck joint uses the method of Bixing: Seinlin turned his back and walked high and low.

The last two sentences evaluate the bamboo shoots, and also the evaluation of the characters: but the fear of spring will be old, and the youth will be alone. As for whether this character is himself or someone else, it doesn't matter that much.

Fourth, similar sentence patterns

These two poems of Li Ji are very similar to one of Du Fu's couplets: Lu - from tonight - white, moon - is the hometown of Ming. N-vfn-F, the difference is the 131 structure. Another example is Wang Wei's: Mountain - Linqing Sai - Broken, River - To Baiyun - Ping.

The difference is that in Li Xin's sentence, there are 2 characters in the middle, and in Du Fu Wang Wei, there are 3 characters in the middle.

Regarding the verses of du fu and Wang Wei's 1-3-1 structure mentioned above, Wang Li said that its characteristics are:

Sentence form, wrapped in a three-word adverbial predicate form. (Chinese Poetics)

Therefore, the color - inlin - to the back, the line - the land - the high and low. These two verses can also be interpreted as:

The sentence form encapsulates the adverb predicate form of 2 words.

Conclusion

The 1-2-2 sentence form mentioned today has only this one form: N-vn-VV (FF), which is the sentence form of the subject-verb structure.

Its predicate is the last two words: VV or FF, and the 2 words of the verb-object structure (vn) in the middle play the role of an adverb.
