According to the Games Data Library, Kirby star: Discovery made it the highest-selling Kirby series ever sold in Japan with 380,060 debut sales, and earlier this week the game also won the award in the UK.
As highlighted by this week's Japan Famitsu sales charts, Kirby Star: Discovery succeeded in topping the list of the best-selling releases of the week. Surpassed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition, Pokémon Legend: Al Zeus, and even pushed FlomSoftware's hit new game "Eldon's Ring of Law".
The Games Data Library shared a list of retail sales in Japan prior to the Kirby series, and it was clear that Kirby Star: Discovery was already ranked in the 2008 DS champion Kirby Ultra Ultimate Deluxe Edition. In addition, Kirby star: Discovery is also the second-highest-selling game in Japan in 2022. Pokémon Legends: Arzeus came out on top, followed by The Ring of Eldon.
