First, the first foreign player in the history of the CBA
In 1995, the first year of the CBA Professional Basketball League, Zhejiang Zhongxin Club introduced the first foreign player in the history of the CBA, Safinkov from Uzbekistan. Yes, you read that right, the CBA's first foreign player turned out to be an Asian player. Although he only played 24 games for Zhejiang, handing over ordinary statistics of 15.3 points and 5.4 rebounds, Safinkov's arrival also opened a precedent in history. Second, the first foreign aid to retire in China
But all foreign players who come to China will not use this place as the final stop of their careers, most of them come here to stay in shape and wait for the NBA to call at any time. However, former Gilling foreign aid Rod is an exception. Playing for Jilin since 2000, Rod planted his name in the hearts of Jilin fans, he is the longest-serving, scoring and most popular foreign aid in the history of Jilin team, he and Sun Jun joined forces to bring Jilin team to the top four of the league twice. Before 2006, the outside world was rumored to be "South Jason, North Rhodes", and the two were called the top foreign aid of the CBA in the past 10 years. On March 26, 2006, Ruder Finn announced his retirement in China, becoming the first foreign aid to retire in China.
Third, the first foreign aid to bring the level of the NBA to China
In the 2008/2009 season, the Shanxi men's basketball team brought in Yao Ming's former teammate Bunchwells, who brought talent to China in the 1998 No. 11 show, allowing CBA players to feel the strength of NBA players for the first time. During his time with the Shanxi team, Bonch Wells averaged 34 points per game, blowing the "stick wind" of the CBA. However, Bonch Wells's arbitrary behavior, failure to cooperate with the coach's training arrangements, and private stay in the United States made the management of the Shanxi team intolerable, and finally, in February 2009, the Shanxi team announced the termination of cooperation with Bonchi Wells.
Fourth, the first foreign aid to lead the team to establish a dynasty
Before 2012, the CBA had been the world of Bayi and Guangdong, and this situation was not ended until Beijing brought in Marbury. In 2012, 2014 and 2015, Marbury led Beijing to the CBA championship three times, becoming the first foreign aid in history to lead the team to establish a dynasty. Not only that, Marbury has been deeply rooted in the CBA, becoming the first foreign aid to receive a permanent residence permit in China and the first foreign player to become the head coach of a CBA team after retiring.
Fifth, the first Asian foreign aid to lead the team to win the championship in a core capacity
Since the CBA pioneered the Asian foreign aid policy, its effect has not been obvious. First, the teams that won the Asian foreign aid quota were the last ranked and weaker teams last season, and the second was that the level of Asian foreign aid was not high, and the teams were more inclined to European and American players. However, Iranian player Haddadi is an exception, he led the team to win the championship as the main player during the 2015/2016 season with Sichuan, and the Sichuan men's basketball team under his town guard was alone in the CBA world, whether it was Yi Jianlian of Guangdong team, Han Dejun of Liaoning team, or Zhou Qi of Xinjiang team, all of which were subdued by Hadadi in that season. For Lester Hudson, it was a blessing to be selected by the NBA, but he was selected with the 28th pick in the second round, dooming him to be forgotten by the NBA. In the end, after moving between the Green Army, Grizzlies, Cavaliers and other teams, Hudson was selected to come to the CBA and make a name for himself here. Since joining the CBA in 2011, Hudson has played for Guangdong, Qingdao, Xinjiang, Liaoning and Shandong. Among them, Hudson was the most successful during his tenure with Liaoning, not only helping the team win the first championship in team history, but also scoring high, on January 15, 2019, in Liaoning's 140:113 away win over Qingdao, Hudson scored 7 three-pointers in 30 minutes and scored 34 points. After this campaign, Hudson's career total score reached 10,005 points, becoming the first foreign player in CBA history to break the 10,000-point mark.
