There are many theories about Gan Fengchi's kung fu master, but at present, there is a consensus that he has learned from many famous masters. Xu Zhiyan's "Ten Leaf Wild Stories" records that he "tasted all over the sea and visited those who seek energy". He once studied art with an old monk in an ancient temple in a mountain in Sichuan, who was "eighty years old and had one leg abandoned", and although Gan Fengchi had respect for him on the surface, he was secretly quite disdainful. One day the old monk called him to the Zen room, and there were three stone tablets in the wall of the Zen room, "The old monk suddenly stretched out his sick legs to hit the wall, and his legs were longer than those of the less sick, and the wall did not move, and the three stele were folded together." Gan Fengchi was stunned. The old monk said that you used to learn all the foreign boxing, but you didn't learn the internal skills well, so if you kicked this kick, you can probably make the wall monument fall, "but the monument must not be broken"! Gan Fengchi knew that he was far behind, and from then on, he humbly learned and "did his best to get his secrets back."

Gan Fengchi was stunned, and threw his knife down to worship, "So the master did things, and finally did not dare to speak of himself, that is, Gan Fengchi also."
These two stories, the first is close to the heavenly foot in "Journey to the West to Descend the Devil", the second is contrary to physiological attempts, it is estimated that they are all fabricated, and the Gaigu people often give the loser a certain degree of elevation with the mysterious wisdom of the winner, but objectively also reflects Gan Fengchi's eagerness to learn. After Gan Fengchi became famous, he left behind more divine stories, each of which can reflect his amazing martial arts achievements. But how much of this is true and how much is false, then the reader can only be asked to "self-identify".

No matter how much the author understands the ability of traditional Chinese martial arts to transcend human limits and physical laws, the credibility of this note is still only zero.
In contrast, the contest with Zhang Dayi recorded in both the Qing History Manuscript and the Min Qiuxuan Narrative is much more real and credible. Gan Fengchi once visited the home of a powerful man in the capital, and a martial artist named Zhang Dayi came to see him from Jinan. After drinking, the two compete. Zhang Dayi is more than eight feet long, his legs are amazing, and he puts an iron ring on the thumb of his feet, "leaping like a wind and rain". Gan Fengchi calmly leaned against the pillar and did not move, waiting for Zhang Dayi to approach, suddenly shot, Zhang Dayi shouted and fell to the ground, blood flowing all over the boots, took off the boots and looked, "Thumbs up the iron in the iron"!
The two things recorded in Yu Chao's "Recent Records of Seeing and Hearing" are not too exaggerated to read. One was that a military attaché asked Gan Fengchi to teach his soldiers to learn martial arts, but he wanted to test whether Gan Fengchi was in vain, so he made an appointment with the soldiers, "I made the flag point, and the gun will stab it." Then, he invited Gan Fengchi to sit and parade martial arts by the side of the martial arts training field, and suddenly pointed the ling flag at Gan Fengchi, and the soldiers immediately raised their guns and stabbed in unison. Gan Fengchi had nothing but a cigarette bag pole in his hand, so he used this cigarette bag pole to "talk and laugh, and the guns flew like a falcon"! The other is that Gan Fengchi "performed a play at the Shrine of the Gods" in Changzhou, and then climbed on a stone opposite the stage to watch the play. Now when I saw a foreigner standing up, I couldn't help but get angry, "Pretending to be fighting, hugging his side, all of them fell to the ground, and Gan lied as before." The scoundrels were horrified and called for "thousands of pounds" of Hercules, who were engaged in chiseling stones, to support themselves. Thousands of pounds pushed the Ganfeng pond forward, the Ganfeng pool did not move, "two hands pushed, the more it stood like a stone pillar", thousands of pounds had to bow to the wind.

In addition, the contest between Gan Fengchi and Jining Li Gongzi in the "Qing Barnyard Banknotes" is also credible. The relationship between Gan Fengchi and the Qing court is controversial in various notes, some saying that he has always been a secret anti-Qing righteous soldier, and some saying that he is actually an eagle dog secretly planted by the imperial court in the jianghu. But as far as the various notes I have seen so far, he seems to be closer to a heroic man who is inseparable from the government, accepts the tolerance sent by the above, and maintains a certain degree of independence.

In Gan Fengchi's life, the person who really contradicted him as the highest power was Yongzheng. The "Ten Leaf Wild News" records that when Yongzheng was still the Prince of Yong, he once roamed Jiangnan, deliberately snaring the rivers and lakes haojie, for his use, hearing the name of Gan fengchi, and willing to make friends with him. One day Yongzheng found out his home address, dressed in plain clothes, went straight to the door to visit, but could not see the shadow of Gan Fengchi, Yongzheng knew that he was at home, looked around, saw a wardrobe suspicious, let people move away, "then it is like a human form on the wall, but do not say or move." Yongzheng asked him to "go down the wall", who knew that Gan Fengchi "closed his eyes and added corpses" on the wall, and did not say a word. Yongzheng couldn't help but go up and shoot him, "The wall is also there." Yongzheng was furious and took a shot at it, and the wall fell with a "bang", "the shadows were extinguished, and Fengchi was not seen, and he did not know where to go." The family thought that Gan Fengchi must have been killed, and suddenly cried loudly, and Yongzheng had to leave sadly. It wasn't until Yongzheng walked away that Gan Fengchi sneaked home from outside, smiled and said to the surprised family: "I hid in the next door." When the family asked him why he didn't see the guests, Gan Fengchi said, "I know his son and don't want to throw myself into the net." Later, those jianghu Haojie who were recruited by Yongzheng were secretly executed after helping him seize the throne, "people began to obey Gan Fengchi's foresight."
Although the "Ten Leaves of Wild News" is often used as a chiseled appendix and absurd, and this note is no exception, Yongzheng does intersect with Gan Fengchi, for example, in the "Qixia Pavilion Wild Ride", it is said that "Yongzheng Zhu's edict can be seen in the strategy." Whether it is won or not, it cannot be obtained and examined." However, it is indeed written in the "Qing Barnyard Bills": When Li Wei, the governor of Zhejiang, arrested and ruled the prison of Jiangning Gu Yunru's evil magic, he had even several hundred people, "Fengchi was also arrested", originally planned to be a death sentence, but Yongzheng was more tolerant of the handling of this case, and did not kill all those who were connected by Zhu Lian, so Gan Fengchi was finally released, and he finally grew old at home when he was more than eighty years old. The Nanting Notes say that he was "more than seventy years old because he was full of mutton." Although the world's first boxer died of indigestion, it sounds a bit absurd, but it is a good ending.
Gan Fengchi's life was "sexy and easy, although women and children are with the fox", and in his later years, he was even more kind, and the "Recent Records of Seeing and Hearing" said that he "never competed with others at home". Once, when he was watching a play in the township, some uninformed hooligans were bullying and bullying, and he went forward to persuade him, and those people saw that a bad old man dared to do much, and shouted and went forward to beat him, and Gan Fengchi stood still, while the people who surrounded him screamed and screamed, and all of them were seriously injured. When the county sent someone to investigate, the people at the scene testified that "Gan did not raise his hand", and some knowledgeable people said: "[Those who are injured] are all fist-fighting and beating themselves." The hearers were stunned, and from then on, Gan Fengchi "was in the middle of the difficulties, and there was no one who dared to disobey."
Compared with those heroes who defend the country and help the strong and the weak, Gan Fengchi in his later years is more like a director of the street coordination office, but if you think about it, this is probably also a realm of real masters.
