Ubisoft's Child of Light Aurora to join Red Trace: Ritual of the Night

Previously, Child of Light director Patrick Prodd had hinted at the "next great adventure" between the protagonist Aurora and his partner Shimmer, but now it seems that this is not a sequel, but a cross-link with ArtPlay's "Red Trace: Ritual of the Night". As part of the 1.30 update, Aurora will be added as a new playable character.

Similar to the original game, Aurora wields the Sword of Matidis and can transform items from chests. She can use lighting skills while slowing down enemies or healing herself. After collecting fragments from enemies, you can improve your skills. Additional skills can be unlocked after defeating bosses, including enhanced movement and then traveled to other areas.

The 1.30 update will be available tomorrow on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with the Switch version updated later. ArtPlay confirmed in June 2021 that a sequel is in the works, although it is still in the "very early stages of planning".
