Professor Wen Weiping, Chief Physician, Doctor of Medicine, Doctoral Supervisor, Recipient of Special Allowance of the State Council, Leading Medical Talent of Guangdong Province, Winner of the 16th Guangdong Ding Ying Science and Technology Award, Won the Title of "The Third Famous Doctor of the Country , Outstanding Achievement", the Ninth Famous Teacher of Sun Yat-sen University, and the First Famous Doctor of Sun Yat-sen University. Aiming at the problem of high postoperative complications of head and neck tumors, a new surgical model for head and neck tumors was created, which significantly reduced the incidence of postoperative laryngeal stenosis and dysphagia, and promoted and applied nationwide; and a predictive model for the efficacy of induced chemotherapy for head and neck tumors was established, which greatly improved the efficacy of chemotherapy.

Among them, in the field of perioperative treatment of colorectal cancer, the FOWARC study co-led by Professor Wang Jianping was presented in the oral report of the American Annual Conference of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) twice, which is the world's first phase III randomized controlled multicenter study reporting the efficacy of simple neoadjuvant chemotherapy and standard chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer, and the preliminary results and long-term survival follow-up results were published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (J Clin Oncol). It was cited in 2017 and 2020 by the NCCN Guidelines for Rectal Cancer. Led the team to lead the phase II clinical study of the three drugs FOLFOXIRI neoadjuvant therapy for rectal cancer, which was also cited by the NCCN guidelines for rectal cancer in 2020, providing a new treatment option for the new adjuvant treatment of rectal cancer. The immuno-neoadjuvant therapy study for patients with dMMR colorectal cancer, which for the first time explored the strategy of immunotherapy combined with celecoxib therapy, greatly improved the rate of complete pathological response (pCR), and the preliminary results of the study were published in The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology and as a cover article to provide a new treatment strategy for patients with this particular type of colorectal cancer.
