The mother city is an important area that carries the history and culture of a city, and is often the place where a city was first born. Located at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, the mountain city of Chongqing has a long history of more than 3,000 years, and has experienced four times of city building, three times of capital construction, cross-river port opening, the establishment of the Republic of China, the liberation of Chongqing and other historical events, and has an important position in the history of Chinese cities. With the continuous development of the city, the urban scope of Chongqing has been expanding, and has far exceeded the original urban area. Since then, the view and understanding that Yuzhong District is the "mother city of Chongqing" has been widely recognized by all walks of life, which is closely related to the history and culture of Chongqing, the history of Urban Development of Chongqing, the status and role of Yuzhong District in Chongqing's urban development and economic and social development, and the future image, positioning and development of Yuzhong District.
