When Zhu Qizhan was young, he had a thin physique and had dealt with the God of Death more than once. At the age of 8, due to naughty luck, the trial mine exploded and almost died. At the age of 19, he suffered from a heart attack and had to drop out of school and go home for treatment. At the age of 27, he developed lung disease again, and until he was in his 60s, hemoptysis. But all this did not crush him, he with extraordinary perseverance and unique health, overcame the disease, became the longevity star of the painting world.

Zhu Qizhan is open-minded and generous, money, fame, power, etc., he regards them as floating clouds, and has never been bound by the reins of fame and fortune, so he lives easily and elegantly. His studio is called "Plum Blossom Grass Hall", which is to encourage himself with the lofty ambition of plum blossom pride and frost fighting snow.

He painted, not bound by the ancients, nor bound by conventions, from the law to the inability to do whatever he wanted. Whether others like it or not, he still goes his own way; whether it is praise or disparagement, he just takes his own artistic path.

Some of his painters debuted later than him, but they were already very popular, and he was not jealous at all. When things are open, you can see everything through, but there are fewer troubles.

Someone once asked him what is the secret to high life? He replied, "There is only one word: painting." Then he smiled and said, "I grew up pinching the brush and drawing pictures, and I lost all my worries." People say smile, ten years less, happy can be a hundred years old; I said, paint a picture, less a little, forgiveness can be long life. ”

Why does painting live longer? Zhu Qizhan believes that painting is also a kind of movement. Because holding a pen in your hand, not only to use force, but also luck, stroke by stroke, are lucky enough, a painting, often have to sweat, just like a trip to tai chi palm.

Before each painting, Zhu Qizhan had to hold on to the chair and take a hundred steps, and when he had the strength under his feet, the qi would be transmitted from the bottom of his feet to Dantian and then to his hands. He had to draw a picture every day, and every time he stood and painted it. Lu You, a great poet of the Song Dynasty, had a poem cloud that "lifted his pen to review the narrowness of heaven and earth, and suddenly swept away without knowing it."

Zhu Qizhan also often entered such a selfless state, he held the pen in his hand, he would feel that there was a vast abundance between heaven and earth in his chest, and once he waved a painting, there was a feeling that the pen was moving.
