The Aliens of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins' unsteady frame rate may be due to an unoptimized model

Released on March 18, "Paradise's Alien Final Fantasy Origins" has been criticized by players for its poor graphics performance and frame drops, and Twitter user DoctorChaos recently found that the reason for the game's frame rate problem is likely to come from an unoptimized model.

By extracting the modeling information, it can be seen that a bat enemy has 330,000 polygons, a coat has 140,000 polygons, and the normal enemy has 390,000 polygons with a capacity of 30MB. The number of polygons in the boss is even as high as 1.8 million, and the polygon capacity alone is 90MB (excluding texture materials, etc.).

Twitter user Akira Jkr found that with an RTX 3090 graphics card, the frame rate jumped to 25 FPS just because of a fur coat. After disabling the rendering of the coat, the frame rate changed from 19 FPS to 30 FPS and the frame time changed from 53 ms to 33.33 ms. He also found that in the case of the picture setting to the lowest and no shadows, because one of the sprite characters in the game had a frame rate of only 8 FPS.
