Abstract: Recently, China Telecom's 2022-2023 centralized server procurement project was officially opened, and ZTE, Tsinghua Tsinghua (Xinhuasan subsidiary), Inspur Information, Super fusion, Fiberhome Communications, Shuguang Information, Lenovo Beijing, Aerospace Information, Zhongke Controllable, Sichuan Hongxin Software, Tongfang Shares, Hunan Xiangjiang Kunpeng and other suppliers won the bid for the project.

Recently, China Telecom's 2022-2023 centralized server procurement project was officially opened for bidding, and ZTE, Unigroup Huashan (Xinhuasan subsidiary), Inspur Information, Super fusion, Fiberhome Communications, Shuguang Information, Lenovo Beijing, Aerospace Information, Zhongke Controllable, Sichuan Hongxin Software, Tongfang Shares, Hunan Xiangjiang Kunpeng and other suppliers won the bid for the project.

According to reports, the China Telecom server collection project, a total of 7 standard packages, computing, storage, cold storage, NFV, GPU and other server models are all listed, the bidding scale reached 200,000 units, the total amount of up to 13.1 billion yuan. This is also one of the largest server collection projects of the three major domestic operators so far.

The specific winning results of each bid are as follows:

Bid Package 1: The winning candidates for computing server (Series I) are ZTE Corporation, Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., Inspur Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd., Super fusion digital technology Co., Ltd., Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Shuguang Information Industry Co., Ltd., and Lenovo (Beijing) Information Technology Co., Ltd.

Bid Package 2: The winning candidates for the storage server (Series I) are Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, Inspur Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd., Aerospace Information Co., Ltd., Super fusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd., and Shuguang Information Industry Co., Ltd.

Bid Package 3: The winning candidates for the cold storage server (I series) are Inspur Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, Super fusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., and Shuguang Information Industry Co., Ltd.

Bidding package 4: The winning candidates for the NFV server (I series) are ZTE Corporation, Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., Inspur Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd., Super fusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd.

Bid Package 5: The winning candidates for GPU-type servers (I series) are Shuguang Information Industry Co., Ltd., Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., Inspur Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd., and ZTE Corporation.

Bidding package 6: The winning candidates for the server (A series) are ZTE Corporation, Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., Zhongke Controllable Information Industry Co., Ltd., Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd., and Aerospace Information Co., Ltd.

Bid Package 7: The winning candidates for the server (G series) are Tsinghua Tsinghua Technology Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, Zhongke Controllable Information Industry Co., Ltd., Sichuan Hongxin Software Co., Ltd., Tongfang Co., Ltd., Hunan Xiangjiang Kunpeng Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd.

It should be pointed out that although the China Telecom server tender, Huawei did not appear in the list of winning bids. However, the winning bid of Super Fusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd. was originally 100% controlled by Huawei, but in November 2021 it became 100% controlled by Henan Superju energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SuperJu energy"), and the three shareholders of SuperJu Energy are all state-owned enterprises.

The main business of Hunan Xiangjiang Kunpeng Information Technology Co., Ltd. is based on Huawei Kunpeng processors, Ascend processors research and development and production of domestic independent brand computer products, therefore, Hunan Xiangjiang Kunpeng Information Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid products will naturally be based on Huawei Kunpeng processor server products.

In addition, Shuguang Information's Haiguang Information has a self-developed X86 architecture Haiguang processor, and the winning product is likely to be a server product based on the Haiguang X86 processor.

According to the announcement, the types of servers collected by China Telecom this time are divided into three categories: A, I and G, the so-called A series refers to the server using AMD chips, the I series is Intel chips, and the G series is a domestic chip. Among them, the procurement scale of G series chip servers was 53401 units, accounting for 26.7%; the proportion of A series chip servers was 2.4%; and the proportion of I series chip servers was the highest, at 70.9%.

For comparison, China Telecom tendered a total of 56,314 servers in 2020, of which the H series is based on domestic processors, including Kunpeng and Haiguang, a total of 11,185 servers, accounting for 19.9% of domestic servers.

In the 2021-2022 centralized server procurement project announced by China Telecom on February 25 this year, the procurement volume of domestic servers (including Kunpeng, Haiguang and Feiteng) was 53,401 units, accounting for 26.7%.
