Boys have these 3 kinds of shameful diseases, which department should they see? Girls be careful!

In other words, there is a big man in Zhuo County, Hebei Province, which has been quite embarrassing lately.

The two were pregnant for more than a year, but the wife's stomach did not move at all.

It was hard to pluck up the courage to run to the hospital, but it was difficult at the registration window:

"What should I hang?" Is it urology, or andrology, or reproduction? ”

Coincidentally, I saw two big men standing next to me who were also confused.

So the three of them met and hated each other late, and worshiped on the spot at the registration window, which is called "the hidden three knots of male speech"...

Well, I can't make it up.

Jokes aside, I mainly want to show that people do have doubts about which department these "men" should go to the hospital to see.

Today, I'm going to talk to you guys.

Andrology is the "little brother" under urology

The three departments of urology, andrology and reproductive medicine are all relatively new disciplines in the hospital.

This can be seen from the establishment time of their respective academic branches of the Chinese Medical Association:

From this chronology, it can be found that the andrology department has been an inconspicuous "little brother" under the urology department for a long time, and the reproductive medicine department is only a small minion under the obstetrics and gynecology department.

In fact, to this day, there are still many local hospitals that do not have specialized andrology and reproductive departments, but only urology and obstetrics and gynecology.

Why divide andromatology and reproduction? Isn't it fragrant to stay in urology and obstetrics and gynecology?

Yes, not fragrant!

The advantage of specialized segmentation is that specialists can handle patients more professionally and meticulously, because the focus of these departments is actually completely different.

Next, let's look at the professional division of labor in these departments and their respective strengths.

Each of the three sections performs its own duties

Urology

The problems dealt with are closely related to the word "urine".

That is to say, from the time the urine is produced to the time it is excreted, the organs it passes through belong to the urological tube.

Simply put, urine is produced in the kidneys, stored in the bladder through the ureter, then passed through the prostate, passed through the urethra, and finally excreted from the body.

Therefore, urology is in charge of these organs, including the kidneys (and adrenal glands), bladder, ureters, urethra and prostate and penis.

As long as there is a problem in these places, whether it is a tumor, a stone, or inflammation, it belongs to the urological tube.

Andrology

The problems dealt with are closely related to the word "fine".

From the time sperm is produced to the time it is excreted, the organs through which they pass are all under the control of the Department of Andrology.

Simply put, sperm is produced in the testicles, passes through the epididymis, vas deferens, passes through the seminal vesicles, enters the ejaculatory duct, passes through the prostate, and finally shoots out of the body through the penis.

Therefore, andrology is in charge of the problems of these organs, including the penis, testicles, epididymis, vas deferens, ejaculatory ducts, seminal vesicles, and prostate.

Therefore, if you can't get up, soft fast, ejaculate fast, don't ejaculate, or your wife can't get pregnant, it is recommended to go to the andrology department.

"My wife can't get pregnant, why don't you go to the obstetrics and gynecology department or the reproductive department?" Why not let my big guys go to andrology? "Don't worry, we'll talk about that later.

Department of Reproductive Medicine

The problems dealt with are closely related to the word "fertility".

As long as the husband and wife cannot conceive the baby, whether it is a problem for the man or a problem for the woman, it is under the management of the Reproductive Medicine Department.

In fact, the department of reproductive medicine can be divided into reproductive andrology and reproductive gynecology, which is responsible for the reproductive problems of men and women.

The wife can't get pregnant, and she has to see the reproductive department

After reading the above paragraph, you may find that the things managed by these 3 departments seem to be repetitive.

For example, urology and andrology both manage the penis and prostate.

Yes, but their respective emphases are different.

If it is penile cancer and prostate cancer, it is a urology job; but erectile dysfunction and prostatitis are problems that andrology deal with.

And the problem that the wife can't conceive a child is managed by the andrology department and the reproductive medicine department.

In fact, the most professional solution to this problem is the reproductive andrology department in the department of reproductive medicine. Because, if the quality of semen cannot be improved after treatment, or if you can't conceive, artificial insemination, IVF and other assisted reproduction techniques must be done by the reproductive medicine department.

Therefore, the relationship between these departments can be represented by the following figure:
