Jiang Qing also has an older brother named Li Ganqing, born on March 13, 1901, thirteen years older than Jiang Qing, who worked at the Jinan Railway Station during the Cultural Revolution.
In the spring of 1970, Li Ganqing and his youngest son came to Beijing to ask for Jiang Qing, and the General Office of the Central Committee arranged for their father and son to stay at the Zhongzhi Guest House.
One afternoon, Wang Dongxing, director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, called me and asked me to report to Jiang Qing, saying that her brother and nephew had come to Beijing and asked to see Jiang Qing, and that it was up to her to decide whether to see or not to see her. After I reported this to Jiang Qing, she closed her eyes and pondered for a long time before she hesitated and said to me: "This is a difficult matter, they have launched a surprise attack on me, and before they came, they did not write to me to ask if they would let them come to Beijing. Since this is the case, tell them that I am too busy at work to see them, and immediately call them back. ”

Tell them that I am too busy at work now, I can't find time to see them, tell them to hurry back, they came to Beijing to find me not to order something? It was really poor and crazy, they saw what I sent, and naturally they would go back. ”
The next morning, while Jiang Qing was sleeping, I took Jiang Qing's "gift" with me to the Zhongzhi Guest House and saw Li Ganqing and their father and son. Li Ganqing was fat, his body was very strong, and his son was fifteen or sixteen years old, full of spirits. After introducing myself, I explained the reason why Jiang Qing could not see them, asked them to return to Shandong as soon as possible, and gave them the "gift" that Jiang Qing gave them.
His son was still a child after all, and he felt fresh when he saw the camera, fiddling intently and playing with it.
After Jiang Qing's brother heard me convey Jiang Qing's words, he shed tears and held his hands on his cheeks for a long time without speaking.
As I was leaving, he hurriedly stood up, held my hands in both hands and pleaded, "I am so old, I am afraid that this is the last time I will come to Beijing, and I will never see Jiang Qing again." Please tell her again, ask her to see our father and son once, please. ”

Back at Diaoyutai, it was already 11 o'clock at night. Lying on the bed just confused, Jiang Qing got up with a bell, and I spent another sleepless night.
When Jiang Qing arrived at the office, I reported Li Ganqing's request to see her. She said: "This old thing really doesn't know current affairs, and he doesn't know who he is?" Before liberation, he was a soldier of the Kuomintang, and after liberation, he was censored and disciplined by our people's government, and people like him still have the face to ask to see me. I am now a member of the Politburo, and if I meet a person who has carried a gun for the Kuomintang, made enemies of the people, and has been suppressed by the people's government, where will my class position go? She gritted her teeth and said, "You asked the comrades of the guest house to inform him, I still don't see him, immediately tell them to go back, can't stay in Beijing for a long time!" ”
Jiang Qing explained to me: "Now that the class struggle is so complicated and intense, they have been in Beijing for a long time, which is not good for me and will affect me. I don't have the money to buy them train tickets, tell them to buy their own tickets to go back, they can come by themselves, they can go on their own. ”
As far as I know, Jiang Qing's account of Li Ganqing's censorship and discipline is as follows: In 1953, when the "counter-revolutionary" movement was suppressed, the Public Security Bureau of the Ministry of Railways investigated Li Ganqing, who was working at the Jinan Railway Bureau, but because he was Jiang Qing's brother, he did not dare to investigate. In 1959, when Jiang Qing wanted to take Li Ganqing to Zhongnanhai, the Zhongnanhai Guard Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security ordered the Shandong Public Security Department to investigate it in a serious manner. As a result of the investigation, Li Ganqing served as a "master" in the army of the warlord Zhang Zongchang, that is, a clerk, and served as a police chief, inspector, bureau officer, and member of the Jinpu Railway Patrol Group during the Japanese and Kuomintang periods. In 1939, under the threat of the Japanese gendarmerie, Li Ganqing wrote to Jiang Qing to plot a rebellion. In 1945, Li Ganqing entered the house and snatched a Wang Hu pistol. Between 1948 and 1951, he stole flour and embezzled rice, eggs and millions of yuan (equivalent to hundreds of yuan today). Li Ganqing had many bad deeds and was punished during the "three antis" period.
Later, the matter became a big deal and developed into the Li Ganqing incident. Because the investigation of Li Ganqing infuriated Jiang Qing, Jiang Qing retaliated during the Cultural Revolution, with Chen Boda saying that "this is a major counterrevolutionary clique case that conspired to frame Comrade Jiang Qing." Jiang Qing cried at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and said: "My brother Li Ganqing used to be very bitter, and he worked as a policeman in the old society for a few days in order to make a living, so they treated him, to me, and actually to our Chairman Mao!" Immediately, Chen Boda and Jiang Qing sent three people from Beijing to Jinan to arrest Zhang Guofeng, director of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, Li Bingzheng, deputy director of the Department, Chen Jingbo, director of the Communications Department, Yu Jie, director of the Security Department, and Wang Maoqing, deputy director of the Jinan Railway Bureau's Public Security Department. With the exception of Chen Guofeng, who was suffering from cancer, the other five were escorted to Beijing by special plane and tortured, and the case was not rehabilitated until 1977.
I don't understand how Jiang Qing, who has been crying out for his brother, suddenly changed his face and was indifferent to Li Ganqing's arrival.
In accordance with Jiang Qing's instructions, I called the leading comrades of the guest house and mobilized their father and son to go back. After Jiang Qing's brother received the second order to call them back, he once again left sad tears, but still insisted on not leaving Beijing and continued to wait for Jiang Qing's reception.
About two days later, Jiang Qing asked me to call and ask if her brother had left Beijing at the Zhongzhi Guest House. I called and asked the guest house, and the comrades at the guest house said that they had not left yet.
At this time, Jiang Qing was very conflicted in her heart: no, they insisted on not leaving, they had lived in Beijing for a long time, and it would not affect her well; see, they were afraid that others would say that her class boundaries were not clear. After a struggle of ideas, she decided to meet them again and quickly send them away. In order to avoid suspicion, Jiang Qing asked me to call Mao Zedong's secretary Xu Yefu and ask him to report the chairman's visit to her brother, and asked for instructions: "I am good to see them, or I am not good."
Mao Zedong replied, "Why not?" International war criminals can be reformed, and I can see the high-ranking figures of the Kuomintang, but don't your brothers dare to see them? You can't deny it! See, be sure to see. ”
After I reported the chairman's words to Jiang Qing, she decided to receive their father and son at the Great Hall of the People. Jiang Qing said: "A person like him with historical problems is not qualified to enter Zhongnanhai and Diaoyutai, and to meet him in the Great Hall is enough to lift him up." ”
At the meeting, in the face of his brother, who had not been seen for many years, Jiang Qing did not show the slightest feeling of missing, but instead lectured like a child.
She said, "When you came to Beijing, why didn't you ask me for instructions and report in advance?" You are forcing me to meet and make a surprise attack. People like you who have historical problems cannot run around, let alone come to Beijing privately. You made me very passive. From now on, you will not be allowed to come back to Beijing, and you will leave Beijing immediately today. ”
Although Li Ganqing was reprimanded by his sister, he was still very happy to finally see his sister who was in a high position, and did not ask for anything. He said excitedly to Jiang Qing: "I know that you are very busy at work, but I really miss you, this child has not seen you as an aunt, often read to see you, today we see, we will leave tomorrow." As he spoke, tears flowed again. With trembling hands, he took a not-so-clean handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped his tears. Jiang Qing did not wait for him to finish wiping, stood up, and left without turning his head back.
