Recently, Ferrari officially announced a set of design drawings for a new GT3 racing car 296 GT3. It is reported that this new GT car will be built by a team led by racing designer Ferdinando Cannizzo. Although its prototype, the 296GTB, is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a V6 engine, rear axle electric motor and battery pack, Ferrari officials said that it will not equip the new car with any electrification system in order to make the car comply with the rules of the race.
In terms of appearance, a lot of details about the new car are inspired by the Prancing Horse brand's 1965 Le Mans champion car, the 250LM. In addition, Ferrari announced as early as last October that the new car in the future will be equipped by the French professional racing company Oreca, and in the next few months, the 296 GT3 will complete the final development and tuning on the track, and the new car is expected to make its debut in 2023.
