To participate in the event, players need to reach the third level and have an item level of 1370. In Lost Ark, if you want to level up an item, you need to do so by enhancing your equipment. Enhancing equipment requires luck and regular input of crafting materials, and each enhancement also increases the probability of failure, making the process very difficult.
In the new announcement, Amazon Games explained, "It was a bug that we released the March game update too quickly after the game was released. The data we analyzed along with data previously released by Smilegate RPG predicts that the majority of players will reach the level required for the challenge. However, we overlooked certain variables, such as players spending more time on horizontal content, and the increase in the price of reinforcement materials due to bots and cash trading. ”
Since crafting materials are scarcer than expected to reach item level 1,370, few players make it through Tier 3 without spending money. Amazon Games wrote: "We've learned that players are worried that releasing Argos before a significant percentage of players upgrade to Tier 3 will make Lost Ark feel like they need to pay to play." We never want players to be in a hurry when pursuing item level 1370. We considered making Argos available at launch, but saw The Abyss Raid as an important stepping stone to help bridge the gap with the unfinished post-game activity released in the Western version of Lost Ark. ”
The statement also notes that Argos isn't the only thing for players to prepare at the end of the 3rd level climb included in the game: "Western versions of Lost Ark have been launched with 1370 level (and above) item levels, such as Night Fox Yoho and Velganos Guardians in Punika, World Boss, Ghost Pirate Ship, Chaos Dungeons, and Abyss Dungeon Hardmode, in part due to our closed Alpha and Beta Player feedback received during the test. ”
To help players engage in these events faster, the current Grand Prix racing event will add additional rewards, and another event will be held next week that aims to be a more "casual" version of the current Guardian Raid Boss battle.
