But what is surprising is that on December 24, Baidu suddenly gathered all the employees of the department and announced: Due to business adjustments, the company will terminate the labor contract with everyone.

Baidu VP announced two compensation schemes, A plan includes: signing the labor contract, the company pays N+1 salary, and cash compensation for unfinished annual leave; Plan B includes: leaving at the end of January, only paying N, and not paying compensation for unfinished annual leave.

The little leopard said that after learning the news, colleagues were indignant.

Baidu went through multiple rounds and layers of conversations, asking employees to agree to Plan A or Plan B. HR said that Baidu has filed a record with the labor department for layoffs, and the reason for filing is economic layoffs, and the layoffs are legal. However, the whistleblower Xiao Leopard learned that even if the labor department accepts the economic layoff report, it does not mean that Baidu's layoffs are legal. If more than 20 people are laid off, they also need to be publicized in the corresponding places. Baidu did not issue a relevant announcement.

The whistleblower, Little Leopard, finally mentioned that Baidu had previously promised 16 salaries, and after the layoffs in December, there were still 4 months of year-end bonuses that had not been paid, and the shares awarded to employees had not been settled. The company only said that the relevant policies have not yet come out, and the performance has not yet been scored, so the year-end bonus cannot be evaluated.

According to recent news, since January 2022, Baidu AIG (ACG, TPG, INF), MEG and other business lines are undergoing personnel streamlining, involving multiple departments of Baidu, some employees reflect that the proportion of staff reduction is 10% to 15% in the pulse, and grass-roots employees, middle-level and high-level employees are involved.

Baidu responded to the rumors of the layoffs, saying that it belongs to the normal flow and optimization of personnel in the enterprise, and employees may face being optimized if their performance is unqualified for a long time. Recently, the related topics of Ali layoffs and Tencent layoffs have appeared on the hot search.
