At E3 2021, the trailer for Final Fantasy: Origins was first revealed. Players have since talked about the game, but not about the gameplay system as the creators expected. Instead, the game's protagonist, Jack, has been the subject of many memes by repeatedly chanting the word "Chaos."

In the trailer and the first demo that follows, the game's protagonist, Jack, is obsessed with defeating Chaos. But because he repeated his intentions too often, the mantra that hung on his lips quickly became a new one.

YouTube channel KaeTube released a video of such a meme, in just 45 hours, Jack chanted countless "chaos".

Final Fantasy: Origins producer Hitoshi Fujiwara also mentioned these large numbers of memes in a recent interview. He admits that the team initially had no idea that the most interesting point in the first trailer was Jack's obsession with Chaos. "Honestly, the number of Chaos memes is exactly more than we expected."

Naturally, developers prefer people to talk about the game's art style or cool combat system. Despite the players' s perversion of focus, they are grateful for the continued attention the game has received, even if not as they thought. According to Fujiwara, "it's at least better than not getting noticed."

Fujiwara said that if the team redoed the game's marketing campaign, they might not put as much "chaos" anymore. "If we do it again, I might want to take a slightly different approach, maybe try to express this more 'clearly'."
