Author: Yoshio Kawakatsu

Translator: Lin Xiaoguang

Published by Kyushu Publishing Co., Ltd.

The Wei and Jin Dynasties, from the Qin and Han Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Empires, experienced a period of great division of more than three hundred years. This is a chaotic era of division between the masses, and it is also an era of magnificent literary art, ideology and culture. This book macroscopically focuses on the various factors and historical development of these three hundred years of chaotic times, in order to transcend the broad vision of the times, jump out of the political turmoil of short periods such as dynastic changes and power struggles, comprehensively examine the interweaving of political history and cultural history of the Wei and Jin dynasties, trace the trajectory of the change of the "aristocratic society" in which it stubbornly survives, and focus on the structure and characteristics of Chinese civilization, and explore the amazing consistency and resilience of Chinese civilization.
